Nice Chest at a Good Price
This middle chest was one piece of three that I ordered. Based on my use as a typical homeowner, it will do the job and stand up to my moderate usage needs. If you are a serious do it yourselfer with lots of tools and will be loading it up, I would suggest you consider the ?Heavy Duty? line of tool chests. A visit to the store to see them in person will reveal the differences in material and build quality. One of the other differences is the locking mechanism on this and all the standard duty chests. It?s a bar that locks in front of the drawers vs and internal locking mechanism. The lock serves it purpose, just isn?t as clean looking as the internal lock. Doesn?t really matter to me though, since it is for personal use and stored in a locked garage. I have no reason to lock it up. Overall, a good chest that will last me for years. Note that these do not play well with the "Heavy Duty" line of chests, which are designed to simply stack. The "Standard Duty" chests are lacking a perimeter lip and require the pieces be bolted together to keeps the chests from sliding off of.

Its okay.
Well it is okay for the price I got it for. It does not come with liner. Still not being able to use because of that. I need to go and buy first. In general, it is like it says " a standard duty" chest.

Great item for the do it yourselfer

This item is made very well. The ball bearing drawers slide in and out without very much effort at all. It is easy to assemble and comes with two sets of keys. Make sure you buy the shelf liner that goes into the drawers to protect it from being scratched from all of your tools,

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman tool box

This is a Christmas present but was an excellent price for what we got. He is just starting his mechanic career and this will be a great starter toolbox for him. Craftsman has always been and excellent name in tools and we will always buy from Sears.

Excellent for Standard Duty use

After purchasing the Black version of this box, I put it to use on my Metric tool set and bought this red one to expand my SAE tool storage capacity. This box and the other 26in wide by 12in deep Heavy Duty version are the only intermediate chests with tall enough drawers to fit 1/2in drive deep sockets in an upright tray (aside from the pricey pro series). I opted for this over the HD version 2 drawer to stay on a budget since the sale price made it nearly a $70 price gap. The ball bearing drawers are smooth and everything came nicely packed from the factory when I picked it up. I gave it 4 stars because the HD version is nicer with over twice the load capacity and the drawers on the HD version slide open to expose all but about 1/4in of the drawer, whereas the Standard Duty version's drawers has about 3/4in of drawer that stays in the chest when fully extended making the back portion of the drawer impractical for a tall vertical socket tray or other tool that would need to be pulled straight up and out. That being said, it is what Craftsman says it is (a USA built standard duty chest). I appreciate the value they have made for those who don't need or can't afford the HD or Pro version but still want something nice and useful.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Wonderful

This is exactly what we needed to finish off our one set of Craftsman drawers. It is not the heavy duty one, so beware that you can damage it if you overfill it with heavy items. We use this one for our lightweight tools, so it works great.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good light duty toolbox

A good value for a price, but the drawer rails are less durable than I expected. I'll consider paying the additional cost for the heavy duty version next time.

good addition to the bunch

We have the tool box on wheels and needed to add some more space. Even though this only has two drawers they are bigger drawers to add more tools. It fits conveniently on the wheeled tool box and you can lock it safe too. Add some liner inside and your tools wont slide around.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Tool Chest

I have an older Craftsman tool chest base, center and topper. I had no space to go wider so I added this 2-drawer unit. Great product. Fit into my old system exactly. Drawers are smooth and provide lots of space. Color is right on with the older unit.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
