I really liked this chest. i felt like it was not too expensive and not too cheap. i liked that it had the shock on the top as opposed to the bar to hold it up. Its pretty sturdy and im happy with the quality. the one thing that i didnt like about this chest and other chest is that it would of been nice to have one of the drawers broken up into 3 for smaller compartments.
I was originally just going to buy one of these for my husband sight unseen, but since shipping was pricey I decided to take a ride to the store and I am so glad that I did. The quality varies greatly with these storage boxes, and this one was a good bet, the drawers pull out smoothly and latch back into place well and it is solidly built. Its a good middle of the road in terms of both quality and price, there were definitely better more expensive ones that were sturdier, and then the less expensive ones were much more cheaply made. Works perfect sitting on my husbands workbench in the garage, now all the tools are nicely organized, no more digging through his old bottomless pit of a tool box!
I bought this with the complimenting rolling Craftsman Heavy Duty Ball Bearing drawer. I have acquired a lot of tools and needed a drawer that could handle the amount of tools and that was of good quality. The steel is thick, the hydraulics (or whatever you call those) are great and ensures the lid closes smoothly, and the ball bearings are of high quality.
I bought thiis tool chest for my son. I have already given him the bottom piece. It is great storage for his tools in his workshop. I know he will love this piece as well. Great workmanship!
I've owned a few craftsman tool boxes .each one was worth at least double what was paid. No matter what price range your planning on buying you can NOT go wrong with a crafts man. From selection to durability to quality to the warranties to the price ranges nothing need be worried about.ive never had to buy any of my tool boxes due to wearing them out or faults of any kind. This tool box seems the same and I imagine now that I'm well into my 40's this will be the last (semi) portable box I purchase. I ordered this online and saved overall an extra $60 from the already lower price than comparable boxes from other brands. Find the size you need, buy one size larger(no tool box is ever big enough in the long run) and have no fear .you will be satisfied ,for years to come.
Was exactly what I was looking for. Much better than my old Craftmans toolbox. I keept my old one and put in my shed with tractor,so I have tools to repair my outdoor equipmemnt.

When you buy a 3 piece combo tool box you would expect the locks to match. Not Sears. Each piece has a different key. 3 different keys to open 1 tool chest. They will sell you a 3 lock set for $17.99. They should have sent one with the chest.
