Power Is Freedom with Briggs and Stratton’s 7000 Watt Portable Generator
The next time thunder cracks and the wind howls, you have one less thing to worry about thanks to the Briggs and Stratton Elite Series 7000 watt portable generator. As the storm blows in, make sure your perishables don’t perish in a dark refrigerator and everyone stays calm and comfortable by keeping the lights on when the rest of the neighborhood is out.
An electric key start on this portable generator makes turning the power back on effortless so the inconvenience of having no power is shorter. A remote engine choke next to the key start means you don’t have to fumble around needlessly in the weather or darkness to get this generator fired up. It's all done in one place with the turn of a key.
A large, more powerful alternator delivers 25% more surge watts to start up big appliances like your fridge to keep your food cold or, more importantly, the heater to keep your family warm. With a seven gallon fuel tank that provides nine hours of running time at half load, you can keep them warm for the night without worrying the generator will starve of fuel.
When the weather is nice and sunny, and there are no worries on the home front, put this beastly 7000 watt portable generator to work. The increased power and run time, along with five 120V outlets, runs all your power tools to get the projects you can’t reach with an extension cord, and it eliminates the need for one of those wimpy power strips that turns everything off with the simple bump of a button. Quit messing around, and quit worrying about the weather, give yourself the security and freedom of power where ever and whenever you need it.

What a difference a couple years makes. My last B&S Generator, a Craftsman 5600 watt, was USA produced, but no more.
Get with it Sears! Get with it Briggs & Stratton! How in the world do you expect American consumers to buy your products when manufacturing jobs keep going offshore?
Other than that, so far so good. Starts easy and powers my needs. Some might say it is loud, could use a better exhaust system since money is being save on labor cost by using slave labor to build this unit.
I was very excited to see how well build this was. I am all ready for the power to go out now! solid tires are a huge plus! I am very happy for the electric start ! Hope the manual pull start works a little easier as it gets broken in!
Generator was delivered before promised and arrived undamged. The wheel assembly was easy and directions easy to follow. Start up was easy, but have not ran for any significant time yet. Bought it to use in an emergency.
got this to run my whole house in case of power outage. My mother has same machine that I hook up to her house when power goes out and it has never let us down - starts right up every time and runs thru the night
Good generator - i went with a Briggs & Stratton Elite Series? 7000 Watt Portable Generator ? Non CA because I had a 5500W version in the past and it did well for me. Powers my Well, Furnace, Fridge, and two lighting/outlet circuits in my house.
Purchased 10/20/2014, and delivery to store was on time. Just this weekend 11/8/2014 took it out of the box and prepped it. Be prepared, the generator is heavy for a 7000 watt unit. First started manually and after the second pull it fired right up. I let it run about 5 minutes and shut it down to test electric start. Started right up without having to charge battery. Tested each of the 4 120 outlets with electric chain saw and then hooked up two lamps, portable heater, refrigerator and the electric saw with no negative results. When the refrigerator cycled the generator momentarily idled down without any fading in lights. I have not tested the 120/240 outlet yet and intend to do that after I have purchased some additional hardware. The reason I did not give it an "excellent" rating is due to it being very noisy. I had expected this though from the Consumer Reports test results stating it was noisey. I advise wearing ear protection when working nearby the unit. It would be nice if Briggs and Stratton made an after market muffler for this unit.
We bought the generator when some trees knocked down some electric poles and was without electric for few days !! I had a little light when I got home that night from the generator thanks to Sears having this one IN STOCK in the store and not waiting till winter to keep one on hand !!
Putting the generator together was easy just by following the instructions. Once put together, I was able to start the engine on the first pull. I let it run for approximately 15 minutes. I then shut it down and charged the battery. I then proceeded to start the engine using the battery pack. Again it started with ease. For the price this is a excellent generator that can power most of my house at any given time. Will try to put a load to it in the next few days to check to make sure that the generators produces the proper power and does not bog down under normal electric demand.
