This socket rack is well made and made in USA. I got two, one for metric the other for standard. It's easy to lock and unlock your sockets and it holds your sockets securely so they don't end up on the floor when you carry them. The magnetic base is a nice touch.

I love a drawer with organized tools in them. This product worked very well. I love that there is a magnetic strip on the underside of this socket rack and that the sockets stay in place when you open a drawer because of that. I also like that the nubs can rotate and lock in a socket and that the nub positions can slide and are thus adjustable. You could also place these on the side of a tool box or on a metal wall rack above a bench because of the magnet strips. My only gripes are minor -- (1) The length of the rack was about 1 inch too long to fit front to back in my Lista tool box drawers and (2) the 1/4 inch socket rack was not the same length as the 3/8 and the 1/2 (for consistency sake). But, as far as the length goes, I realize these tools were made for Craftsman size tool boxes and drawers and not my off brand. I ended up manipulating things with ease. I used a hacksaw to trim off the length so they fit better. I also moved the sockets around and put more 1/4 inch sockets on the longer racks (the 3/8 and 1/2 ones) and moved a few 3/8 inch sockets to the shorter 1/4 inch rack. I did this because I had more 1/4 sockets in my set than 1/2 and 3/8 sockets. You can do this by removing a screw in the end cap and sliding off the nubs. It is very flexible to meet everyone's individual needs that way. My next wish for sears (craftsman) is to sell a great organization system for screwdrivers -- or to start selling screwdriver sets that have plastic tray organizers as part of the package. I can help with that.

I favor trays for storing sockets in my tool box. Only problem is that trays tend to timp over if the tool box gets jostled. I worked on aircraft for years and often had to push my rollaway to an aircraft to complete repairs or replacements. I could always count on my larger trays tipping over if the "drive" was too far or out onto the flightline. Then I would have to take a moment to put the sockets back in their trays before starting to work. 1/2 drive sockets were the worst because of their mass; they would fall over more easily than the smaller sockets. This tray conveniently solves that problem. You can lock the sockets in place, they won't tip out and will release only when you unlock them. "Sacramento" Bruce Conklin
