i am a diesel mechanic and was looking for a good gun at a reasonable price and i found one . mine gets tossed on the floor dropped on the ground. it takes what ever the trucks and heavy equipment that i work on and it keeps coming back for more. great gun would buy another.

not what i expected
when i think of a gun with 400 ft/lbs of torque, this should have no problem removing and installing lug nuts on a vehicle. Boy was i wrong. not only did it barely take the lug nuts off, it wouldnt impact them back on. about half way on, the gun would freeze up, i finally got so frustrated i used my torque wrench. i now use an ingersoll rand and have never had any problems.

Works great

I've had this gun for about 4 years now and it's been able to handle everything I could throw at it. No problem with the standard tire rotations but I was most impressed when it didn't even struggle when removing suspension bolts that hadn't moved in 11 years. Not sure why all the bad reviews? I will say that the gun is weak if not attached to a proper air supply.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

No power

This impact is a great price and feels good while using but it has no power. I tried to remove the lug nuts off a mini van and it wouldn't budge them. I ended up using a 3/8" breaker bar to loosen them. I had the same problem with lugs on a Silverado truck. After I reinstalled the lugs with this impact I feel I used the torque wrench more than I should have after using an impact. I have never had a problem with Craftsman tools in the past but this tool doesn't cut it and I am ashamed of Craftsman for that. I thought I just had a lemon tool but after reading other reviews I'm not alone.

Craftmans Impact wrench

I was forced to buy this product. The one that came with my compressor was crap. And of course they could not or would not repair it so to have a good one I had to but this one. this one works great. But beware of the free stuff from Sears. It is crap.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman impact 1/2'' wrench

I have been using this product at house for any mechanicl needs that may arise and I have to say, it gets the job done. The appearance is really nice, though I wish it had some kind of protective covering to keep it from getting scratched up when I get caught up the moment and forget to lay it on something soft or smoothe... concrete is not very friendly with the coating. Other than that it works great! Couldn't be happier........

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Gutless. Don't waste your money.

I bought this assuming that Craftsman made quality products. This is my first experience with an air tool from them. This impact wrench had trouble getting lug nuts off just about every car that came into my shop today. Under stress it would simply stop working and expel air through the exhaust. I couldn't trust it to torque them back down, so I used someone else's. It sounds really cool and quiet, and it looks nice. This is also heavier than some of the other guys impact wrenches in the shop.

This is a worthless tool. It's back in the box after it's first day of use.. tomorrow it's going back to the store.

well worth the money

i bought this impact 2 yrs ago. I work as a mechanic so i use this everyday 30 to 40 times a day. i oil it in the morning and at lunch, it has never lost any power or failed to work as intended. Yes the coating (chrome or whatever finish it has) started comming off 9 months after purchase, but i dont use tools for looks it didnt cause it to fail. I honestly this this impact will last me a few more years (if i can quit dropping it) but for the $80 i paid it had paid for itself 100 times over. Will definatly purchace another one when and if the one i have now quits

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good air wrench

I received this air wrench as a gift and I really like it. It is comfortable to hold, and has all of the power I would expect from a 1/2" drive air wrench. It is heavy and durable, and a big improvement over the lower end craftsman air wrench. $100 may be a little steep, however, and thiat is the only reason I give it 4 stars.
