Good sturdy adapter. It can take the torque.

Craftsman quality & U.S. made, as always.I bought this to adapt my half inch drive torque wrench to smaller size fasteners (within its value range), CAREFUL not to overtorque, of course. My only complaint is that it should be added to Craftsman's 4-piece adapter set (which I also recently purchased!). SEARS! Make it a 5-PIECE set!

I used this with a torque wrench and was tightening lugnuts to 80 ft-lbs with no sign of the adapter giving out.

I picked this up to use with my 1/2 breaker bar, It fits the breaker bar and my 3/8 inch sockets as expected. I've used the part 2-3 times so far and it saved me from buying a large 3/8 breaker bar or the 1/2 sockets I needed to get the job done. A great, small, and useful tool.

So far, I have broken two of these. I am beginning to wonder if Sears no longer specifies these so they are durable and will last. They probably build into the price the fact the customer will return them at least once. What can you say about an adapter? It worked until it broke. I had it on a torque wrench that was tightening to 85lbs and pop!!! It was inconvenient because it was the only one I had. I took it back and a replacement was not in stock. I had to wait weeks and kept checking with the store because they would not call me when the item was finally in stock. Hit or miss!

This adapter sheared off of the socket with 90 ft/lb of force when attempting to remove a nut holding a blade on a mower deck. Hoping that this was a defective product, I returned it to Sears and tried a replacement adapter. It also sheared off at 90 ft/lb. So much for heirloom quality. This did not seem to be an excessive amount of force for this tool, as this is a common procedure for lawn tractors. This may be my last Craftsman tool.

Broke it using 1/2 breaker bar. Thankfully, exchange was very easy. This convenience is why I would choose craftsman over other "overrated" brands.

Although it is a bit pricey buying this item by itself, it is better than buying a whole 1/2" drive set of sockets. I am going to be using this piece with my 1/2" drive torque wrench in instances where I can use my 3/8" drive sockets in applications that do not require torque above 50 ft-lbs or so. I think it will come in handy.

I have a Wheel shop and sometimes other shops really tighten up custumers wheels and to take the wheels nuts off of those cars we have to use Crafsman's Digitork Torque Wrench model 44597 (one of the longest) to loosen up those wheel nuts and we use this adaptor model 4259 we've put this adaptor to the test up to 140 lb of torque and it could maybe take more, others adaptors like this will snap at about 80 lb or even a snap on one that we had "snap off" at 120 lb. This is one of the best adaptors crafsman makes!
