A decent tool, or it should be once I order ANOTHER putty knife to scrape off the brown glue Craftsman used to attach the label to this one. Tried using Goof-Off, still won't remove the glue. Just shows how even a great tool or idea can be ruined with lousy execution and shoddy packaging.

I have to agree, this is a FINE putty knife! With so many basic homeowner items being made more cheaply these days, it's very nice to see a reasonably priced and efficient tool. The beveled edge is key, it makes huge difference! I'm so anal, not only do I clean my knife but I oil it as well, it's worth the time!

This putty knife is high quality. It is really sturdy and has a sharpened edge. Haven't seen a better putty knife than this one. Even comes with a #2 apex with attach point in bottom of handle, great for getting those high screws in drywall down before mudding.

This is my second one of these. I lost my last one after 10+ years of use. The edge can be extremely sharp. I use it as both a wood chisel and a scraper for many projects. It has a steel cap so can be hammered. Overall a great product.

I have wasted a lot of money on putty knives over the years. With most putty knives, you uses them a couple times and next thing you know they are covered in rust. This putty knife is made of durable stainless steel, which solves the rust issue. The handle is comfortable, and slip resistant. The handle tip is reinforced, and can be used for pounding nails/staples flush or striking w/ a hammer. I used the particular tool last weekend to remove a damaged 12" x 12" ceramic tile from the kitchen floor. the beveled edge worked great for removing the aged mud w/o damaging the fiberboard underlayment.

The Craftsman line of Scrappers and Putty Knives are greatly superior to any others I have found on the market today. They may cost a buck or so more, but isn't the quality of your work worth the investment? These knives feature a precision ground stainless steel blade that not only excels at its intended purpose but won't rust like the Brand X versions. The comfort grip handle allows for long periods of use without getting fatiqued. You'll also love that the handle is reinforced with a striking tip built in. If you haven't checked out this line of remarkable tools; you owe it to yourself to do so. I really wish Craftsman would introduce a 5-in-1 Painter's Tool made to the same specs as these putty knives. That would complete my collection.
