Craftsman 1-1/4" Chisel Stainless Putty Knife for a Clean Job

The 1-1/4" chisel stainless putty knife is an affordable, versatile tool for a wide range of painting and repair jobs. One of the key aspects of getting a job done right the first time around is selecting the proper tool. When you must scrape loose paint, take off small pieces of wallpaper, get rid of crumbling window putty, or remove window decals, a chisel putty knife is the tool that you need. Selecting the chisel knife over a flexible knife, painter's tool, or disposal knife makes these tasks go much more smoothly.

The Craftsman 1-1/4" chisel stainless putty knife boasts a durable stainless silver blade and a soft grip gray handle. You get the comfort and longevity that you need for working on long jobs so that you don't tire your hand or wear out the tool. The knife is taper ground for optimal performance while the hammer end adds versatility to the tool.

Great for removing paint and cleaning up old barn wood.

Was doing some work on my parents old barn and from all the years of paint being splashed on the window sills were a mess. The corners were rounded from all the paint. Where other putty knives worked in getting the flaking paint off this one excelled in cleaning up the corners and tight spaces.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      High Quality Tool

This putty knife covers all of the quality points that I look for whe purchasing putty knives; stainless blade, metal cap for hammering, rubber grip & most Iimportant a good price. The overall tool is pretty plain looking with the grey and black handle but that does not impact the tool performance. A splash of color in the handle would in my opinion make it easier to spot if misplaced on a job site but I still like the tool and own other sizes in the lineup. I usually purchase the sizes I don't have when they go on sale.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Very happy with the replacement looks sturdier than the wooden one!

This was a replacement for a chisel that had a wooden handle. Definitely an upgrade since the wooden handle split.

      Beware Shipping Glue

A decent tool, or it should be once I order ANOTHER putty knife to scrape off the brown glue Craftsman used to attach the label to this one. Tried using Goof-Off, still won't remove the glue. Just shows how even a great tool or idea can be ruined with lousy execution and shoddy packaging.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      I Agree!

I have to agree, this is a FINE putty knife! With so many basic homeowner items being made more cheaply these days, it's very nice to see a reasonably priced and efficient tool. The beveled edge is key, it makes huge difference! I'm so anal, not only do I clean my knife but I oil it as well, it's worth the time!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Good Tool

This putty knife is high quality. It is really sturdy and has a sharpened edge. Haven't seen a better putty knife than this one. Even comes with a #2 apex with attach point in bottom of handle, great for getting those high screws in drywall down before mudding.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      My favorite scraper and chisel

This is my second one of these. I lost my last one after 10+ years of use. The edge can be extremely sharp. I use it as both a wood chisel and a scraper for many projects. It has a steel cap so can be hammered. Overall a great product.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Great tool for the homeowner

I have wasted a lot of money on putty knives over the years. With most putty knives, you uses them a couple times and next thing you know they are covered in rust. This putty knife is made of durable stainless steel, which solves the rust issue. The handle is comfortable, and slip resistant. The handle tip is reinforced, and can be used for pounding nails/staples flush or striking w/ a hammer. I used the particular tool last weekend to remove a damaged 12" x 12" ceramic tile from the kitchen floor. the beveled edge worked great for removing the aged mud w/o damaging the fiberboard underlayment.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
