Product Description
14 in. long locking socket rack holds 13 sockets. Magnetic backing. Fits all major brands of sockets. Can be used as both a peg access, or as a locking system to keep tools in place. To lock sockets, simply place your socket on the post and rotate the socket 1/4 turn to the right. Operates easily with one hand. Portable and easy to move. Sticks to most metal surfaces. Rust resistant.

I love a drawer with organized tools in them. This product worked very well. I love that there is a magnetic strip on the underside of this socket rack and that the sockets stay in place when you open a drawer because of that. I also like that the nubs can rotate and lock in a socket and that the nub positions can slide and are thus adjustable. You could also place these on the side of a tool box or a metal wall rack above a bench because of the magnet. My only gripe (although minor) is that this 1/4 inch socket rack was not the same length as the 3/8 and the 1/2 -- for consistency sake. It would have been nice to have a longer strip with more nubs, too. But, I ended up manipulating things with ease. I bought two of these 1/4" strips and removed all of the nubs by simply removing a screw in the end cap. I had more 1/4" sockets than anything else so I moved some 1/4" nubs to the longer strips (3/8" unit) and replaced those 3/8" nubs on the shorter strip. It is very flexible to meet you individual needs that way.

I favor trays for storing sockets in my tool box. Only problem is that trays tend to timp over if the tool box gets jostled. I worked on aircraft for years and often had to push my rollaway to an aircraft to complete repairs or replacements. I could always count on my larger trays tipping over if the "drive" was too far or out onto the flightline. Then I would have to take a moment to put the sockets back in their trays before starting to work. This tray conveniently solves that problem. You can lock the sockets in place, they won't tip out and will release only when you unlock them. "Sacramento" Bruce Conklin

This socket holder holds 13 scokets. It's a great way to keep your sockets together and a great idea. The holder has room in it for three (3) more socket holding studs. By removing one screw more studs could be added. However, the studs, or replacement studs should you break one, are not available. One E-mail to Sears and two ten minute phone calls confirm this. None of the sales people at the Sears store had any idea if they were available. Other styles of socket holders have replacement studs available.

These are very nice holders, heavy duty and stable. Adjustable for odd-size sockets, and locking mechanism secures sockets in place. Concur with other reviewers - PLEASE SELL REPLACEMENT PEGS SEPARATELY!! Would like to mix and match but am not going to buy complete holders to get more pegs - would spend $$ on replacement pegs, suggest sets of 3 or 4.

For years I used the clip style socket holders, which were not very durable, but not expensive either and were very portable and easily customized with fewer/more clips. I tried this product as a replacement for those holders. Pros: Positive retention. One hand use. Mounts easily. Look nice. Cons: NEED TO SELL EXTRA PEGS!!!! Weight and magnets limit portability. Price. If extra pegs were offered, it would greatly offset the other negatives.

Great product, makes things look real good and organized. Quite pricey for a large socket set. I would buy a lot more if they went on sale. I would be nice if you could add more pegs since there is space for 3 or 4 more.

I bought one each of the 1/4" and 3/8" socket holders, just to try them out. At $20 each, they are a bit on the expensive side, especially if you have a large socket collection. These work rather well, and it's better than having a chest organizer that requires you to just remove the sockets you will need from the organizer, instead of being able to just pick up an entire socket set, and go. The magnetic strip is really strong, and will even hold up long sockets, with a thick (1/8") non-slip pad, upright in your chest, without falling over when you shut it. I plan on buying at least 2 more of each size, but will wait until they go on sale. A little too expensive for me.
