Product Description

1/4 In. Teardrop Ratchet a Solid Addition to Any Tool Kit

Built to perform under professional working conditions, this Craftsman 1/4 in. teardrop ratchet is at home in any shop. Whether you’re an exhaust-breathing pro or a just like turning wrenches on the weekends, it stands up to tough torsional pressures while spinning nuts and bolts with a minor 10 degrees of swing. That means that whether you’re elbow deep in an engine, or bending and stretching to get things moving behind an appliance, this ratchet moves fasteners with a only a little wiggle room.

The smart design of this 1/4 in. teardrop ratchet gets reversing directions and swapping sockets done with the simple movement of a thumb, while a precision machined square drive reduces movement and gives you more life in every socket and extension you use. A solid tool that’s a garage, home and jobsite essential, stick this 1/4 inch in your box for service you can depend on.

  • Craftsman 1/4 in. teardrop ratchet features a tough, torque ready build
  • One handed reverse button keeps you in contact with fasteners
  • Teardrop shape allows better access in tight spots
  • 10 degree ratcheting arc keeps bolts moving even in tight areas
  • Thumb activated quick release swaps sockets easily
  • Guaranteed forever

Craftsman 1/4 in. Drive Quick Release Teardrop Ratchet

Is this not the benchmark for all ratchets of this type? For many years a ratchet such as this has graced my tool box until it was borrowed...never to be seen again.

I recently bought the replacement and, while a little shocked over the price, I was truly happy to see that the quality was still there if not a tad better than before.

You cannot go wrong with this ratchet as a stand alone or in a set!

Craftsman Hand tools--Now made in China??
I have been purchasing Craftsman tools for 30 plus years because they are proudly made in the USA and carry a lifetime warranty. You can imagine my disapointment when I opened my newest ratchet and it no longer says Forged in the USA. In fact, it doesn't even say where it is made on the tool itself. The words Made in China are very small and on the back of the cardboard package. Sears must be embarrassed that they are outsourcing so they are not making it obvious where it is made. I can no longer say I am proud to use Craftsman tools that are Made in the USA.

Good ratchet

Haven't had any problems with this ratchet, I use it all the time at the wrecking yard to dismantle small fasteners inside doors, in the engine compartment and under the dash. Works fine and is one of my reliable tools.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

very poor construction

I use this for home use and it is a very poor product. It is almost like the gears inside are/were stripped from the time i got it. Looking at replacing with snap-on as I'm tired of having the skin removed from my knuckles. it skips and free spins about every other turn.

could use more "teeth" to give it more travel but still the best in the tool box.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This rachet is a piece of crap

This is the worst rachet I have ever owned.  It never lasts more than a few months (with only occasional use) before it starts to slip.  I would just as soon use a Taiwanese rachet as this one.  It is definitely NOT dependable.  Save your time and money.  If this is your only choice, use a cresent wrench instead.  It can't be any worse!

1/4 in. Drive Quick Release Teardrop Ratchet- Craftsman -44807

A while back I bought a new one made in the USA, this week the toggle switch part broke, so I returned it and was given one made in China. Back when I bought the ratchet the big selling point was the Made in USA part just as much as the guarantee, I could have gotten a similar guarantee from ********** and spent a lot less if I wanted to buy junk from China. A replacement with a inferior tool made off shore is not a full warranty, plain and simple.
