Good solid ratchet
A really good ratchet. Good to have extra length on a 1/4 ratchet. The flex head is a great addition for better access. Tough. Durable. Made in America! BEWARE: This ratchet has no quick release for socket detatchment. At times, sockets are tough to get off. Other 1/4 ratchets in Craftsman tool sets have a quick release. With the money I paid for this ratchet, why not?? Website needs to correct the description. Other than that, this ratchet would've gotten 5 stars. UPDATE 7-22-2013: Was in my local Sears store. I saw this same 1/4 ratchet, for the same price, made in China, and it had a quick release button. The U.S. made has no quick release, but charge the same price for a China made product with a quick release button. Come on Craftsman.. What's the deal?

Nice ratchet

While this ratchet doesn't have a quick release like its larger counter parts, it's still an excellent tool. Fit and finish are top notch. Build quality is excellent as well. There is a new version that does have a quick release but it's made in China. The older non quick release is USA made and can still be found in stores if you do a little digging.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Better Quality than I Expected

I was reluctant to purchase this ratchet since it was no longer made in the USA but took a chance and am glad I did. It now has a quick release button that the previous edition lacked and it works smooth as butter. The direction switch is smooth to operate one handed without removing the tool from the fastener you are working on. The only feature I would like to see improved is for the handle to be slightly thicker for better ergonomic handling. The flex head detents are milled precisely so that my ratchet snaps cleanly in place at each angle. This is a great buy when offered at a sale price.

Nice addition to my tool collection

Very expensive (more than the larger tools of this type). Buy on sale only. Very versatile for small jobs.

Gets a lot of work done considering its size

I purchased this 1/4 in drive, reluctantly, because I was getting tired of using the 3/8 to 1/4 extension for the smaller sized sockets. Wouldn't you know it, the next big job I encounter requires working in spaces in which my hands are almost too big. This wrench, along with the 10" and 3" 1/4 in drive extensions, made the job much easier. In addition to taking up less space, the weight of this tool is less than the 3/8 drive, (reducing the "fumble factor") AND the swivel head allowed me to turn sockets in difficult locations. I needed to apply unusual torque on some bolts, and this wrench handled it well. This wrench is a welcome addition to my tool box.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Excellent flex head ratchet

I bought this to used for changing my car oil. The long handle is quite useful when I need to reach hard to reach area. The tool itself is stainless which is very easy to clean.

Great ratchet.- USA version

I bought this ratchet at a one of those small hometown sears stores around May of 2013. Luckily the ones they had in stock were USA made and had the "VV" stamp. So unlike the 3/8" and 1/2" drive versions, it is staying in the tool collection. Being the USA made ratchet, it lacks the quick release button that the Chinese made ones have. However, this has never been an issue for me and I have never had problems removing any of my Craftsman sockets off of it even with oily hands. The ratcheting is only 36 teeth, but still feels very smooth when using it. Probably because it is made in the USA. I love this ratchet and I use it all the time on helicopters. It has never failed or disappointed me. If you are luck enough to find the USA made one in the stores or online, ****** it up!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Excellent 1/4" drive ratchet.

As with all Craftsman tools this one is excellent value for money. The ratcheting action is smooth and like my other Craftsman ratchets I know this one will last a lifetime.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
