Odd Looking Saw Goes Where Other Can't

OK - I admit that this little hacksaw isn't going to win any beauty contests. It has a particularly unsual design which, by the way, is exactly what makes it so great.

Most hacksaws have a harp style frame, which takes a lot of room to work effectively. If the blade isn't adaquately supported however the blade will flex and most likely break. This saw offers the best of both worlds. It is open framed in the end so that you can work in tight areas without causing any colateral damage and it is closed framed in the middle section to provide strength and rigidity.

Be aware however that this tool is best stored hanging up. Throwing in your toolbox or tool drawer will cause damage to the exposed blade.

Happy hacking!

TOOL TIP FROM TUNED944

Keep your old Hacksaw blades. You can screw them down to a scrap piece of wood using the two holes located at the ends of the blade. Then slide a full piece of sandpaper under the blade. By pressing down on the blade with one hand and pull the sandpaper towards you with the other you can make a very effective paper cutter. Good Luck!

MADE IN CHINA
Im afraid to use this product with the crapy clamping mechanism that is suppose to hold the blade in place. I have always been a diehard craftsman fan but the amount of products that they keep outsourcing to China will soon change that. This company needs to get back to its roots of providing quality made, American made products.

Good tool to have

Thought it would be good just to have, needed it the next day. Handle seems nicely constructed (cast metal) but not thrilled with the mounting of blade- just sandwiched between the handle an a nut. Could have been better.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

A specialize hacksaw for cutting through wood, cardboard, etc.

I haven't used this much but this one was helpful for reaching into those corner spots where the normal hacksaw couldn't reach because of it's bigger front size. It's a bit heavy though given it's size.

OK for small jobs ...

Good for tight spaces but blade locking mechanism is not well designed. Any force at all causes it to bend and dislodge. I guess it is OK for minor cutting or small jobs

Good for hard to reach spots

I bought this to get into a small space. The build quality is all right . . . the blade is designed to go past the frame, so I didn't expect much sturdiness. I got the job done, comes with the lifetime warranty, price is right.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Wouldn't travel without this

This is a great tool for home or when camping. I bought this primarily to put in one of my RV toolboxes, but had to get a second for home use as well. This is great for those tight spots that a regular hack saw just won't work. Always check online prices - usually much less and I can pick up at my local Sears store for free!.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Nice idea poorly executed

Keeps coming apart while working on some crown molding. Went back to the store bought a craftsman junior hacksaw.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Won't Hold Blade

Blade comes loose after a few strokes, no matter how hard I tighten nut.

Could have a better blade clamp

Glad to see the frame is cast aluminum but the blade retaining mechanism is just a serrated self-locking nut not a large surface area clamp. I've yet to use it to actually find out if the clamping method is an operational issue.
