I am putting in a garden in my back yard, so I purchased this to haul away the dirt I dug out and to bring in new top soil.
Assembly was pretty straightforward and took about 45 minutes. Two of the predrilled holes in the poly "bed" didn't line up properly and had to be drilled out slightly in order to get the bolts in. The instructions are also a bit hard to follow, some of the pictures show parts in different alignments which caused me to spend extra time putting everything together. Inconvenient, but not a big deal.
The big disappointment came when I tried to use it to haul a load a dirt. First, the latch on the trailer tongue is VERY loose and does not lock the bed down positively at all. After I loaded the trailer up about half full with dirt, I started up my tractor and as soon as I began to move the trailer, the latch came undone and the trailer dumped all the dirt I had just loaded.
Perhaps dumped is the wrong word because it didn't actually come out of the trailer, but the trailer went into the dump position. The dump angle is not sufficient to get dirt to come out. It may be enough for mulch or something else that's lighter than dirt, but if you're hauling dirt, you're still going to need to use a shovel to get it out.
After the first accidental dump, I tried to pick the bed back up and relatch it, but since it's made out of poly and not metal or some other rigid material, the bed just flexed when I tried to lift it so I had to shovel all the dirt back out in order to lift the trailed bed back up and relatch it.
After the first accidental dump, I tried to tighten up the latch. I made sure it was fully closed, and reloaded the trailer. This time I made it to the spot where I wanted to dump the dirt and shoveled it out.
Load # 2 made it about half way, but then I went over a small bump and it unlatched itself and dumped the dirt in the middle of my yard. I've thought about using a c-clamp to lock the trailer bed to the tongue so it can't accidentally dump, but this isn't something I feel I should have to do to fix a brand new product.
Another thought - I've noticed that when pulling the trailer, my tractor gets stuck VERY easily if the ground is at all wet or muddy. I got stuck three times inside of half an hour, and the only way I was able to get unstuck was to ask my wife to drive the tractor while I pulled from the front. Not really the trailer's fault, but something to keep in mind. Craftsman lawn tractors don't seem to be designed to pull heavy loads. As long as the ground was perfectly dry, it worked fine, but if you need to work in wet areas be aware you may have trouble.
I used to have a ********** diesel mower with a ********** trailer, and I know you can't really compare the two because they're in totally different classes, but the ********** trailer served me well for 10 years while this one had problems within the first 15 minutes.
Overall, this purchase has caused me a great deal of frustration and I'm going to return it and buy a trailer with a metal bed and a better latch. If all you need to haul is small amounts of mulch or something else that doesn't weigh very much, you may be able to get away with this, but I think the weight rating Craftsman lists in the description is overly generous and makes you think the trailer will be able to do things it can't really do.
I love this purchase. Not only do I move dirt, mulch, plants and just about anything all over the yard. The kids love riding in it as well. This is very light weight, yet very strong and sturdy. The dumping feature is a great addition to it. I will never use a wheel barrow again.
Bought this trailer to help with lawn work, but I find myself using it for alot of other things around my property. It was pretty straight foward to put together, instructions were well displayed. I love the dump feature! The trailer in my opinion is built very sturdy.
I've been using my poly bed cart behind my lawn tractor for two years now. What I like is the seemingly indestructable poly bed - it takes a real beating. While it dumps materials you do need to get in there to shovel out the last bits. After two seaons outside the paintwork is still holding up with little or no rust on the metal bits. It's shortcomings include a release latch that does not hold (solution is to wrap it in a bungie cord). The big thing I don't like is that I can't keep air in the tires -they are constantly going flat. Even when it was new. the tires went flat. It is also very difficult to find replacements tires.

Great little cart pulls fine behind Craftsman 30" tractor. I had a 600 hundred pounds in tree limbs, I just cut them up and tossed them in. The dump lever works great. Made it easy to dump out logs. The instructions are awful. Wrong numbers in the parts list and diagrams. I was missing the hitch pin assembly, They sent it quickly. It is fairly easy to assemble, just don't tighten up all the bolts until you are done!
Light weight, easy to assemble, rugged, and more than ample for most around the yard jobs. Only 1 straight screw driver and 1 1/2 inch wrench required for assembly.
