Craftsman 10' x 7' VersaTrack Steel Shed has Swing Doors for Easy Item Entry and Exit
The Craftsman 10' x 7' VersaTrack vinyl coated steel shed is an excellent outdoor storage solution; it's perfect for storing your tools, garden supplies, landscape equipment and more. It has a wide door opening and swing doors, for easy entry and exit of your items. Within the shed, enjoy plenty of space for storage—even a 55"deck riding mower fits within it! There are also sized-right shelf brackets and wall braces to make hanging shelves a cinch. The shed is VersaTrack compatible too, so you can customize it with hooks, shelves and more.
This Craftsman 10' x 7' VersaTrack steel shed works great year round. It is made of electro galvanized steel with a vinyl coating overtop that is abrasion and scratch resistant. The roof is highly durable, too, with reinforced roof strengthening brackets that provide twice the strength of a standard shed. The shed has semi-transparent skylights for interior lighting to increase visibility within the shed. The 71.3" wall height provides loads of head room as well as making it easy to store tall items. The built-in lock provides great security for your stored items.
What is the difference between a Steel Building and a Vinyl Coated Steel Building?
Craftsman Vinyl Coated Steel buildings offer an increased protection against the elements, scratches and UV rays. The steel goes through the same electro galvanizing process but instead of baked on enamel paint; a special vinyl coating is applied to the steel and then baked on for maximum protection. This vinyl coating makes the shed walls 5 times thicker than the normal galvanized product. The vinyl adds to the maintenance-free service life and increases the strength of the shed walls.

I hired a contractor to build this shed for me. Afterward, I asked him to write a review of his experience in erecting it because he has some tips other purchasers will find helpful. "I want everyone to know i am a professional carpenter and build $250,000 dollar homes for a living. I will start by saying the directions are not as good as I think they should be for a homeowner. Some of the pictures and paragraphs are hard to make out. The most important thing about the shed is square but this will not make it easy. The walls must be exactly square also. The hard part is the siding panels form the shape as you put them into the slots. I had the most trouble with the roof part. The building was squared but the roof panels did not line up the way that they should. I think the manufacturing part of this shed is less than the specs they should be. I had to loosen everything back up to twist it out of square to line up everything. If you leave the panels loose you will be able to move things a little to line everything up. The doors are also a issue. The cross brackets can be loosened so you can rack the doors so they will fit. Also if the bottom is not exactly level you will need to make sure that is right. I cannot suggest building a shed like this unless you have help and some sort of handyman skills."

We had a 10 X 7 shed from sears for 40 years. It was time to replace it. When I went online, I found a 10 x 7 Craftsman almost the same design. It also came with the floor, free. We bit. When we laid the metal structure down around the cement, as the base, because the ground had already had a cement slab, it was 8 in. short in the width and 6 in. short in the length! Good thing we called a friend who said, go with the rail sizes length and width, stop if things don't fit. So we took a chance and Mickey Moused our cement platform. The best we could, YEAH!! No where in the manual did it say the size of the base should be shorter. It was awful to put together in the first 1/4 of the manual. We called Sears and no one could help....So I do mean AWFUL! Now that we managed to finish it, It's not bad. I would only recommend to a friend or family if they were shed literate or knew someone knowledgable. We were NOT! Instructions need to be corrected. PRONTO, so when you read it, to do the foundation, you are aware of the shortness. I always thought a 10 x 7 shed was a 10 by 7 platform!! Have patient's, as it can be done.

Craftsman does it right. The shed was well designed and engineered. Everything was there to put it together and have it fit the first time. The number of panels, connectors and nuts and bolts was beyond counting, but it was not possible to get things in the wrong place. Assembly is a big project, so plan to take all day. I had one problem with the shed. The doors were on the wrong side. The sales staff was not fully informed and told me the wrong thing. I had to return the shed and find another solution because of space limitations. Sears did have another product that should work. Otherwise, I was totally satisfied with the Craftsman shed.
IMPORTANT: IF DAMAGED BOX (Bent metal) return it!!! I had my shed delivered to my local Sears store. I notice the box had some minor shipment damage but I hauled it home. Open the Box notice minor side panel damage and some with the gables. No problem But the shed is a Tight Design. Fairly simple to build, I did all the work by myself ex. For 6 bolts. BUTTT The bend side panels required some modification and the bent Gables required some extra tape to seal the gaps. Put together in two Days. I am handy and was sort on time to get this done so I worked through the issues. MY Recommendation is if box damaged return it other wise you will have to make many Modifications.

I thought the price looked good. I was excited to get a steel shed. I've built a few before. When it came, the box was smaller than expected, especially for a (10x7). Most of the parts were bent on the ends and had to be straightened out with tools before I began (the metal was VERY thin), the steel panels were very easily dented... The instructions are a little confusing. It took a LOT of time just to get through the first quarter of the manual. The manual says it can blow away with light winds....that's a little scary. But the most disappointing part was that it doesn't come with a FLOOR. For some reason I never saw it written anywhere as "Shed shell" or "Flooring not included". No wonder it was so cheep... So keep in mind you have to secure your light winds shed down to something without a floor and still come out of pocket on the floor...that can easily let in pests or plants... I honestly can't say that I cant think of anything good or helpful about this shed. It has a million different codes for every piece painted or indented on them. Instructions had a double name for the various screws which was hard to figure out...Which would be fine if it didn't come with over 800 pieces and literally thousands of screws and nuts. This is not a easy shed to put together. Good luck. I'm returning mine.

A group of 5 of us assembled this shed and took us ALL WEEKEND to put it together. At the end it looked great but it is very time consuming. The manual was awful. It didn't explain the steps very well and the illustrations didn't help as they weren't detailed.
I was slightly skeptical when I purchased this shed. I have put together many metal sheds in the past and they were awful. This I did by my self!! (except for 4 roof bolts) It took a little over 10 hours not bad... that did include building the platform that it sits on. I would have given this 4.5 stars because its only draw back are how the doors line up. But my grinder took care of that. I would definitely suggest this. The directions were simple to follow, it was rather easy to put together with almost no assistance and it is very nice looking as well definitely not an eye sore
