Bought this 10 gallon compressor recently from sears. I really like the fact that you can use it for just about anything. Use it for air in your vehicles or just to use around the house.
This compressor is pretty nice I read a lot of reviews and did a lot of research before making my purchase, it takes 10min or less to fill from being completely empty, the loudness of the compressor when filling is normal not that loud. So far I've had it for 2 weeks i have used it to rotate my tires on my 2 cars and it's working great.
I purchased this air compressor to replace a very old compressor. My old compressor was larger but had a leak. I need to have a compressor on hand for a few small tools but mainly I need to be able to inflate tires on my car and on my lawn tractor. This unit is fully assembled, just need to add the included oil and it's good to go!
Brought it home and filled it with oil per the manual (to top of dot in sight glass). Plugged it in and it ran like a champ. It took about 5 minutes to fill the tank to ~135psi. Not as loud as I expected. Unplugged it, drained the tank. Everything looks good! Next day, fired it up again, but the unit would only reach 50psi. It sounded like the compressor was losing power and stalling. Checked the fittings for leaks (none), confirmed the drain valve was closed. No issues found. Drained the tank and tried again. This time, compressor stalled out around 35psi. Piston seizing? Unit is going back for a refund. Very disappointing for a product with Craftsman brand on it.

Compressor was delivered to home in perfect condition. It was easy to remove from packaging by cutting the bottom of the box and lifting it off. After filling it with the supplied oil, it was ready to use. It is a nice size, and fits into a corner of my garage without taking up too much space. It is more than adequate for the majority of my use, including operating 1/2 and 3/4 inch professional quality impact wrences. It appears to have the same motor and pump assembly as another Craftsman compressor I own. It has provided over 7 years of trouble free service. I expect this one will perform similarly.

I purchased this yesterday, with some misgivings based on some earlier reviews. I started it up today with no surprises. Everything works fine..no leaks. It came up to full pressure in the expected time....about 5 minutes from an empty tank. It's still holding pressure 3 hours later. I didn't find it especially loud either. I do want to respond to a couple of earlier negative comments. 1) It's obvious that draining the oil requires removing the plug holding the sight glass. The manual should say that. 2) the included oil bottle is only half full...just enough to bring the oil to the proper level. It's not because of leakage.
Got it for my dad. Took it out of the box, filled it with oil. Started compressor and it ran for a little while until reaching maximum pressure. I was satisifed up to that point. After compressor kicked off at max pressure (135 psig), it slowly bled the pressure out through the relief valve until compressor kicked back on at around 110 psig and started the same process over. Next time it reached max pressure, I turned it off thinking that maybe it wouldn't bleed out again. Well that didn't work either. Finally found out that it was a defective check valve that is supposed to keep air from escaping the tank when motor turns off. Quite dissatisfied that Craftsman doesn't check these things before leaving factory. I'm going to exchange it tomorrow and hope the next one doesn't have a problem to. It's like rolling dice.
