Overall Good Saw, Bad For Crown Moulding
I've owned this saw for about 2 years. Out of the box it was nice and calibrated and laser guide was perfectly aligned. I've used it on may different projects. Works well and produces accurate cuts for building projects (miters 2x4's good and other smaller lumber). Has plenty of power for this and cuts pressure treated 2x4's well. The saw has a few downsides. 1) can only cut material about 3in think at 90 deg. (cutting a 2x6 at 90 is nearly impossible). This also makes cutting 4x4's impossible. 2) the bevel degree marker is difficult to read and has no preset stops at common angles. 3) Not good for crown molding. Can only cut about 3 in crown and it must be laid flat on the base. Does not support vertical cutting of crown (the 3in depth mentioned in 1 makes this impossible). There are no crown stops avaliable to support this. To this saw's defense, it does cut 3in or smaller crown laying flat if you can align the bevel correctly for repetative cuts and remember to keep your pieces straight. Overall good general purpose saw for building, but don't buy it expecting to do a crown moulding job.

You get what you pay for.
I bought this miter saw thinking it was a great value for the $99 sale price; however the quality matched exactly what I paid. The saw was easy to use "right out of the box"; however, while I was cutting the SECOND piece of laminate flooring, the laser guide just stops working. Due to the fact that I work late, I couldn't return/ exchange it at that moment, so I decide to work without the laser feature. Sure enough, after about the tenth cut, the securing brackets break off - I believe they were made of either painted plastic or aluminum coated plastic. I immediately returned this saw for a full refund, and instead opted to purchase the DeWalt 10 in Miter - more expensive, but well worth the extra $ for the reliability, durability and overall performance - it's AWESOME! I highly recommend it.

Good saw, impossible to get replacement parts.

Purchased this saw and used it around the house for small projects off and on. The lower blade guard was damaged, and now the part is discontinued. The manual of course instructs that this should not be operated without the blade guard, and I certainly understand that. What I don't get is why they would stop making a part that will protect the user from serious injury. Is this what Sears/Craftsman has to resort to to sell new tools? I was told on their "chat" feature on their website that I needed to buy a new saw, for the lack of availibilty of a $15.00 part. Come on Sears...Stand Behind Your Products!

    Craftsman 10in Miter Saw Delivers!

My husband bought this saw about a year ago. He loves Craftsman tools, so when it went on sale, he couldn't pass it up. He has been nothing but impressed with it. It makes cutting angles and molding simple! The laser makes it so easy to see where you're cutting as well. I've used it myself and it was simple. We've been extremely impressed with it and have already recommended it to a few friends.

    works well (when it works)

This saw works well for sawing. But, I had to replace the whole unit twice in 2 years after very light use. Also, the laser is too dim to use in sunlight, the dust bag is too small to be useful, and the included clamps are awkward and not very functional

    compound miter

I purchased this saw several years ago, I use it often, it has been with any problems. I would recommend this saw to my friends. Many of my friends continue to borrow mine, I have suggested that they too purchase this saw for their workshop. I own many craftsman tools, they are outstanding

Craftsman 10 in. 15A Compound Miter Saw with Laser Trac

I bought this saw and am pleased with it. I used it to build my deck, and it cut my 45 degree angles perfectly every time. This is an awesome saw for the money. I would recommend this saw for anyone that needs to build anything that requires precisely cut angles.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

    Craftsmen Miter Saw

This is a great tool to have in your tool supply. It is extremely versetile and can be used in making the great miter cuts that you need at working on a project in the yard. The laser is great for making sure that you help recieve the right cut and the right angle.  the one bad thing I did not like about the saw was that it had to much plastic on it. So if you accidentally dropped the saw it would break very easily and you would need to send it in for repair. Takes alot of time away from your projects that you are working on at the time. Making more durable parts on the saw is one better way to be able to keep the saw for years to come and will cut down on sending it in for repairs.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
