Craftsman 10 in. Buffer/Polisher

I bought this on sale a couple of months ago and have had a couple of opportunities to use it.  I used it first on my 1972 El Camino and it sure did take a lot less time and effort to polish it up over doing it all by hand!

I then used it on my 2009 F-150, a truck I hated to wax but now don't mind it a bit!

I like the way the handle is set making this polisher quite easy to use at all different angles.  It has enough power to do the jobs I want it to do around the home.  I even used it on my new air compressor and now it shines like crazy and didn't wear me out doing it!

For the money this one is hard to beat!

10 in buffer/polisher
The design of the polisher may be consistent with today's style. However, it still seems bulky and the terrycloth bonnets that are included and the wool polishing bonnet and of such cheap quality. Not only that, but you have to fight to get them on the wheel. They are stretched so tight I believe it interferes with the quality of the finish. I used it for about 3 swipes across the tailgate of my truck and stopped, packed it up. I won't use it again. I will give it to someone. The time to return has run out. I also believe the polish bonnet should be microfiber, not terry. Much, much better job taking polish off without swirls. You had a very good 9 in buffer. I had one and the only reason I got rid of it was the foam pad fell apart. It was about time though. It was about 10 yrs old. The pads fit too.

Buffer

Not a bad product. I need the heavy weight pads to take polish off vehicle. I applied polish by hand, buffed with this polisher and then hand wiped with terry towel to make sure polish was completely off. The light pads that came with this polish is to light and I prefer the heavy wool like pads for easy wax removal. Not bad, ease of use! Hope this helps!!!

Buffer/Polisher

This product is a tad big/heavy to hold for long periods of time, especially when it is turned on and oscillating. I found that I prefer to apply the wax by hand and use buffer to remove wax and for final "buff." It does not get around small crevices and trim lines well, so be prepared to use some hand power to reach those areas. For the final buff though, it does a GREAT job. Overall, I like this product.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Ten inch buffer

It is a nice tool that a disabled person can operate. I wish it would have been available in store. As I do not prefer internet shopping. The storage container was broken upon receipt. I noticed that when I opened the shipping box. It is no great thing. But that is why I tried all our local stores first. I have been, and continue to be a proponent of the Craftsman label, since 1968.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Product!

I bought this as a present for my father, and I works very well. Saved alot of money by doing it myself. Instructions are clear, and the car looked great afterwards.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This buffer is junk

This buffer is Junk. The motor is so severely underpowered that if you are putting wax on a flat surface (trunk, hood, roof) the motor bogs down instantly with NO pressure on it. If you put a decent amount of pressure on it it will stop. If your wax is even the slightest bit too dry or heavy when you are ready to remove it, you might as well put the terry cloth pad (included) on your hand and use the buffer to hold your drink, It does nothing! I cant believe how bad this thing is. Does sears test their products? There were three things that I found good: 1-The top is flat so you can flip it over and apply the wax without holding it.2- The handles are comfortable when using it horizontal, vertical, one handed or two handed. 3-The final buffing pad worked very well. After I rewaxed nearly the whole car by hand I used the final buffing pad and It definitely improved the shine? Sears, Do you read these things? Put a more powerful motor in this buffer, Charge us $80 and we will buy it.

Nice Machine, Gets The Job Done!

I purchased this buffer polisher because I was repairing rust on a quarter panel, and using cans I could not get the clear coat to go on shiney. I am also getting old and find myself in pain after waxing the car or truck for the semi-annual clean ups. I found the unit light weight and the all the way around handles perfect for operating in just about any angle. It comes in a plastic tub that you can store the unit in while not in use along with any extra pads and applicators you may have for the next job. They only supplied a short stub cord so you will need an extension cord. I had NO problems with the unit unplugging during use or even trying to unplug due to "vibration" The unit came with an applicator pad, a polishing pad and 3 terry bonnets and 3 applicator bonnets. It also comes with a comprehensive owners manual which was obviously not read by many of the negative postees on this site as it explicitly tells the user NOT to apply pressure during operation, that the counterweight orbital operation design takes care of the need to do so. It further states to not start the unit while not on the vehicle surface, and to NOT apply too much wax or polishing material or it may bog the unit down or make the bonnets pull off. I was able to buff up the clear coat on my project quarter panel and bring it up to a high shine with wax and the buffer bonnet without any issues what so ever. I am very pleased with this product, and will be using it to wax the rest of this vehicle this evening.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Short Cord Extension Nuisance

You will pull your hair out in frustration if you don't get electrocuted first, This buffer extension cord is so short it continuously disconects itself  from the buffer vibrations. There is a velcro attatchment that does not work in keeping the extension cord and the buffer's short cord hooked up, the velcro attachmenmt is to short and in the wrong place it does not work. Im am really dissapointed in this purchase.
