For some reason, my other pair of vise grips walked off so I was needing something quick to get a job done as soon as possible. I picked up these pliers and they held up every bit as well as pliers far more expensive than this set of pliers. They have a great feel and they are very resilient. I highly recommend these pliers to anyone looking to add a set of locking pliers to their personal toolbox.
These are also very affordable and would make a great gift for whatever occasion that might spring up.
Craftsman did very well with these pliers.

These pliers are great! I was a little concerned about the bulk of the padding on the handles but, after using, no issue. The padding enables setting even a tighter grip as you can apply more pressure for closing without straining your hand. Hard to believe the classic vise grip could be improved but, I must admit, Craftsman found a way.

I really like these pliers. They 'unlock' by pulling the handles apart rather than by pressing in on a 3rd lever like some other manufacturers have you do. They grip very well and are easy to adjust. I have all variations that Craftsman makes and use them all regularly. My only complaint is that they changed the grip color at some point so now I have 3 in red and 2 in gold. Oh well, could be worse. Not sure where mine are manufactured or assembled, but they work great.

I had a friend say to me, "I've never seen anyone break a come-along." I did. I've put this thing under TREMENDOUS amounts of stress and it still works great.

I bought these on sears.com and had them sent to my local store. When I went to pick them up at the store, these were not Craftsman Professional like they show in the picture. You may want to make sure this is what you want before buying them. I was very disappointed. I may never buy another sears product because of this. I try to buy American when I can. I thought I was buying American based on the website, but was sadly mistaken.

I just bought a set of two craftsman locking curved jaw locking pliers and to my surprise when I got home and paid more attention to the package it said made in China. Not worth the distance to drive back to sears to take them back. But I will be more careful than assuming the hand tools are US made. A year ago I bought the same set and they were made in the US. I guess now one must stay with Vise Grips etc.

After years of use and abuse, my old vice-grips finally gave out. This gave me an excellent opportunity to research what was available and see, first hand, what improvements have been made in this tool. It should come as no surprize that Craftsman's Professional offering was the best I could find in this catagory. You'll enjoyed the padded handle and one-hand operation. The adjustment screw on this pliers is smoother gliding that any other product I found on the market. I highly recommend these pliers. There is a complete line of size and jaw types to fill any need. Try a set out today and you'll want to own them all!

These locking pliers so far are great. I like the soft grips and that it was not made in China like every other plier on the rack, well I guess this is assembled in the USA.

I had a partially stripped drain plug on my car (made of cheap metal) so I bought a set of these vice grips. I opted for the curved jaw because they allow for a lot of pressure to be applied from multiple angles and acheive better grip. Coudln't say that I am happier- it was at a good cost, rugged and simple to use, and its craftsman of course, so you get a lifetime warranty on the tool which is always a good thing. Long story short, I got my drain plug off without a hitch and have a beautiful new tool in my toolbox.
