I have had a set of these for some years and have only had to use them once or twice. The first time I used these they more than paid for themselves in the time they saved me on the job they were used on. The second time it was really just more of the same. This is the kind of tool you buy, stick in the box, then hope and pray you will not ever need because if you do nothing else in your box will work, including your Vise Grips. I would highly recommend these for anyone that gets into any major mechanical work on cars, trucks, tractors etc. If the nut or bolt has a rounded head like as not these will remove that fastener when all else fails. These are not gimmick tools, they will save yer rearend in a pinch! I give them two thumbs up

After a lot of trying took a couple of rusty bolts out and snapped off a couple. Hard to get correct size to fit, still rounded off corners of bolts. Brought back and got the" Grip Tite Super Sockets!" (that Sears carries)These work great!!

This tool was used to try and remove a hinge bolt on a automobile. The first one I purchased was obviously used and had metal shavings in the tool carrier right from the store shelf. I instantly returned it the following day a received a new unoped tool. The tool did not work in my case probably because of the access to swing a hammer on the adapter over the bolt head. I also have a little doubt on how long it will last since the metal showed early ding marks from medium hits with the hammer to secure it on the bolt head.

I got this set years ago and have only had 2 use it 3 times(before I got it maybe once a mnth this would have helped go figure ) took off a lug nut with a 1/2 long craftsman ratchet using an adapter came off with ez. Tool lug out of socket no damage 2 socket....the nut was done but that was 2 be expected. Live these sockets takes off those stubborn stripped nuts.

This product may be OK for around the garage at home, but is deffiently not for the professional Diesel Mechanic at work in a gargage. I got the Craftsman 10pc. Impact Grade Bolt-Out Damaged Bolt/Nut Remover for my husband who works as a Diesel Mechanic and it failed the 1st time out of the box. The very 1st time he used one of them it stripped out and I had to return it to the store. I would not recommend this product for any professional Diesel Mechanic, it won't hold up.

Works Well, Must have in every tool box. No Cons Does What you Need it to

I bought this set thinking I needed it, but before it came in, my brother had gotten the bolt lose, so I kept it around for future use, seeing that my brother and I have a very bad habit of stripping bolts out. The day we went to go use it, I used the 14mm, lined it up on the bolt and pulled the trigger, a few good taps and it shattered as if it were just pulled out of liquid nitrogen, a good sized chunk of it flew off and smashed trough my rear window and through my driver side front window lodging in my mirror on my Contour SVT, thats a $400 job in case your wondering. Called Sears, "Not Covered Under Warranty" and then hung up on me. I have had this problem in the past, and this was the last straw, I sold what remaining Craftsman items I had, and bought a set of Snap-On's, more money, but at least they have honored their warranty in the past with me, with a smile, and no questions asked. I would avise staying away from this, not only is it shotty, it's also a potential hazard to anyone or anything around, I'm yet to figure out how it managed to do so much damage.

Worked well at removing broken stud, but difficult to put on in a tight spot.

I make my living as a "real" mechanic so I know tools. I had a corroded bolt on a tranny housing that would not budge. I had already broken two 6 point sockets...which had rounded the bolt off when they gave way. The situation got worse with each attempt to break the bolt free. I was about to grind the head off the bolt but decided to give this product a try. I had my doubts...but they were unfounded. It gripped the the 1/2 bolt head and then I applied tons of pressure with the breaker bar....followed by a huge POW and then all the extensions and the bolt remover fell to the ground. I figured I broke the breaker bar or an extension...or the bolt remover socket...just like the previous 10 or so attempts. But to my surprise it was the bolt that had loosened. What a relief. Grinding the top bolt of a transmission housing on a transmission installed in the vehicle would not have been fun. This product is well worth it and should be essential in any mechanics tool box.
