Craftsman 10 pc. Metric Crowfoot Wrench Set

I finally got around to buying a set of these to work on my cars that sport more metric nuts and bolts than anything else!

Just like the SAE set, this is a tough set of tools made to be used!  They did the job I needed them to do this weekend when I was working on the wife's 1999 Mustang!

Great tools at a good enough price made only better by the warranty!

Boo! Made in China

Unfortunately not available in pieces, only the set. If I'm going to spend $50 for a 10 pc set of tools (that's $5 a piece) I only need one of I'd expect to support fellow American workers. The cheap plastic pouch feels flimsy too. You have to look really hard at the tiny print on the pouch to read the "made in China" label. Craftsman is no longer worthy of its price premium as I can get any other made-in-China brand much cheaper. I'll go buy SK Tools or Proto: they're still made-in-USA. Sears: are you TRYING to lose generations of lifelong loyal customers? My grandfather insisted on Craftsman. My dad insisted on Craftsman. I was teaching my kids to only buy Craftsman, but now that they're no longer made-in-America I can't any longer do so in good conscience.

The Craftsman 10 pc metric crowfoot set is affordable quality.

I am a proffessional mechanic at an agriculture dealership and these metric crowsfeet wrenches allow me to get into some tight spaces to access hydraulic fittings, nuts, bolts etc. Before purchasing these it was pretty hard to get to some things without taking something completely apart.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

It's a Game - Like Hide and Go Seek

Sometimes the designer of a car and other item doesn't seem to give much thought to making it repairable. In fact, there have been occassions when it appears that they go out of there way to make it difficult to repair an item. It's almost as if the are saying, Ha Ha - we are smarter than you!

Well, maybe so! They are not smarter, however than the tool design geniuses at Craftsman. If you spend much time looking through the Craftsman Mechanic Tool offerings, you'll find all sorts of unusual and uniquely designed tools. Each of those tools was developed to fill a specific need. This is the case with this collection of Crows Foot Wrenches. The were developed to reach fasteners that the automotive designers tried to hide.

Designed to work in conjuction with a ratchet and extension bar, these wrenches can go where no other tool can. Before you rush out to buy this set of tools you need to ask yourself if you perform serious mechanical work. These wrenches are not necessary for common house-hold repair. Professional and serious D-I-Y types will appreciate them though.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

If you have ever worked on a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle ......

If you have ever worked on a Harley - Davidson motorcyle you know just how tight those designers can make stuff, well, this wrench set, along with the standard version can be a life saver for you. On some models, something as simple as the starter wires can be nearly impossible without removing a bunch of other parts, these crowfoot wrenches will make your life easier :)

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Strangely Useful

What do you do when the fastener you need to reach is way down in a valley and is surrounded by other parts or the engine casting?  Well, look for a crows foot attachment.  They are somewhat awkward to use, do not offer the best leverage, and can come loose is hard-to-reach places.  But you still need to have a set of these because nothing else will do the job in tight places.  My experience workingwith crows feet suggests the open end version is the most useful.

I would suggest that you add the SAE set if you are working on SAE fasteners as well.  While you can use metric tools on most SAE fasteners you want to best fit possible when using crows feet.

Required for working on newer cars.

I would recommend these wrenches.  It is a great set for the money.  I got them to do a specific job, but I've since needed them a couple of times more.  They've already paid for themselves, as nothing else would've done the job.  Great quality chrome.  Made in USA!   Looking forward to finding more jobs for these wrenches.

Get both sae and metric!

I have been needing these crowfoot wrenches for a long time and other mechanics were tired of me borrowing theirs. (And I was tired of asking to borrow them). Typical good Craftsman quality for the amount I paid. My only complaint is that there is no 15/16. (which I knew before I bought them).
