I purchased this set when the local Sears store was having a sale. I've used them three times now and so far I have been pleased. You definately want to make your deep cuts gradually; no more than 1/8 at a time. I heve used them in poplar, red oak and MDF and the cuts have been clean and sharp.
This set will not disappoint you. Watching for a sale price will save you about $20 - $30.
I chose the set because of price, but in a week, a 3/4" bit was broken. I will choose another product.

The bits lived up to my expectations but the box fell apart when I tried to remove the bits. The bits were hard to remove from the holders. Pushing them in and out several times didn't improve the difficulty in pulling them out. I would still recommend.

Great assortment of quality bits. More then just the easy ones this set offers enough variety to get most jobs done. Quality means these bits hold an edge and always provide reliability.

These bits are not Freuds, but they are fantastic for the price you pay. They are carbide tipped and seemingly well made. I have probably spent about ten hours one of the ogee bits and aside from a few obvious user errors have not burred, burnt or otherwise marred any surfaces. I have used the bits on alder, curly maple, birch ply and soft maple. I am no expert or professional but I know many of the best practices of router usage and these bits have not failed me. I use a DeWalt 2&1/4hp router with an adjustable speed. One of my biggest complaints about the Crafstman router bits is the 1/4" shank. This seems strange based on the size of some of the bits and I think the 1/2" shank would be more appropriate. If you do not take your time and practice good technique the bits will chatter on you. Above all, the bits are worth buy for the occasional user and home improvement guy.

i got on sale and it gives you a nice selection for what i paid for them. Not the best bits in the world but unless youre working with stock that will only be stained and youre extreamly picky you wont notice. I have only cut pine with two bits in my set and i do not have any complaints.

The Craftsman 10 pc. Router Bit Set was given to me as a give for my Craftsman digital plunger router. I have never used a router before and this was going to be fun to learn how to use. I played with some scrap wood and tried the various bits in the set to see how each would cut and what they looked like on wood. Then I upgraded to using the bit set on a few projects & made me look like I knew what I was doing. I like the wooden box that the bit set came in and it's a pretty sturdy little box and protects the bits very well. All of the bits in the set come with 1/4" shanks and the blades are carbide tipped to help hold their edges longer. The ball bearings on the bits are nice quality and help you guide work router along your work piece with hardly no effort. This may not be the bit set that you would choose if you are a pro or have a lot of routing experience, but it is a set set for those of us out there that are just getting started into the world of routing. I used what I learned on this router bit set to make more purchases of a variety of router bits as I gain more experience with routing. I have read what others have said about these bits not being up to par, but they did the job that I wanted and as I said, Ilearned how to use my router with this set and I had no problems with them. They made my projects look pretty good, even for a green wood worker. There are higher end sets, along with higher prices, but if you are just getting into this field or you are not sure that this is your thing, then use this set to test the waters and then work your way up as you learn. that is what I did and it worked great for me. I would recommend this set for anyone just getting into routing and wanting to learn something new and to have fun while learning. Who knows, you may even bust out with an awsome first time project. I have a Craftsman router table now & I use my router on the table and still use these bits on projects and like I said before, they have done the job for me. I have purchased more bits since this set and added to my collection, but I owe my start in routing to this little starter set of Craftsman router bits in it's nice little wooden storage box. I was not too concerned about warranty on this set, but it was there if I needed it.

I bought this set because I wanted to start getting my router bits together and I thought this would be the best way to build my tools. I was right. These bits cut beautifully and the box they come in is nice enough to keep them in so you have them all in one place. I am very satisfied with these bits and I recommend them to anyone that is either starting out or who wants to add on to their collection. The only thing that I DON'T like about them is that they are not USA made.
