I have this set a long time now and it works very well. But if you need more pins to add sockets to it BEWARE. They charge approx. $3.50 each per pin (not per bag as I learned the hard way and they are not returnable) You would be better off buy extra sets and keeping the pins and just throw the old trays away.

This item has helped organize my tools in an easily changeable way. I can switch trays to group metric and SAE individualy or together. The trays make gathering sockets for a project easy and no more loose rolling sockets to loose.

I purchased this product to replace the vast ammount of socket rails I have in my tool chest. I agree that for the material used in the production of this product the cost is HIGH!. I am suprised that this product is actually a lot stronger than I imagined. I recommend offering additional pegs depending on your needs. I could use a few more 1/4 and 3/8 pegs.

It's a cheap plastic thing that's worth about $6 but it works. The real down side it that they don't give you enough of the pegs to really be able to make it work and there is no way I can see to buy more of the pegs. They should either include twice as many pegs or offer to sell you more. This should be sold at ************** not Sears but all that said it does do the job.

I purchased this Socket Organizer and I have both Metric and SAE sockets 1//2 drive. The kit only came with 25 Pegs for !/2 inch drive sockets. I have my 1/4 and 3/8 sockets (not full sets, only ones that I use most) mounted on one board. My 1/2 drive metric sockets are mounted on another board. I have one empty board and 5 pegs to mount 19 sockets on the empty board. I inquired on Sears online about buying extra pegs. It was sticke shock at least, $3.19 per peg. To finish mounting my sockets I would have to buy $44.66 worth pegs to finish the job on a $24.99 socket organizer set. Sears screwed the pooch on this one. It would be more like $3.19 for a bag of 25 pegs. Incidently, they include 50 pegs for 3/8 drive sockets. I have 30 of them left over. Something is devinitely wrong with this picture.

The idea of this is good, I have tried many different socket holders but since sears is too inept to design holders that work with their tools like socket sets and wrench sets (Like other quality manufacturers supply for free with their tools) you have to get something else. One review said if you want replacement pins they send you 20 or 30 for about 5 bucks. That is why I ordered this, the pins they supply aren't enough. WELL THAT IS WRONG!!! First off, the geniuses at Sears could not find the replacement pins for this. That's after taling to about 6 people in the tool and parts departments. Finally I did find the correct parts. I ordered 3 sets of pins. You know what I got? 3 pins for about 8 bucks!!! Parts orders are also not returnable so I am screwed and wasted a total of more than 20 bucks to order what ended up being a total of 9 replacement plastic little 2 cent pins. That reviewer and Sears poor quality and customer support has not cost me another 30 or so bucks with shipping. No wonder the hedge fund group is running Sears into the ground.

A decent set used to organize a small amount of sockets. They aren't held in very tight, but as long as the tool carrier you are using isn't moving around very much this is not a large problem. The setup also allows you to custimize the layout of the sockets. You can fit three trays in a small Craftsman tool chest. When organizing sockets, the 1/2 inch drive sockets take up an additional slot next to the socket (need to skip a hole in the tray to allow the socket to fit), the 1/4 inch drive sockets can fit next to each other, and 3/8 inch drive sockets up to 9/16 inch or deep well sockets up to 5/8 inch can fit next to each other while the larger size sockets of the 3/8 inch drive sockets need an additional space to fit. There are 80 holes per tray. Not enough pins were given per tray and only one pin is given per order upon ordering additional pins from the parts direct website of Sears. This is in contrast to another reviewer who says the price is for a bag, but I ordered additional pins and upon receipt of the parcel found only one pin per order ($2.16 per pin) plus shipping. This makes setting up a large socket set rather expensive, and would be cheaper just to buy a whole new set of trays and pins. A dowel rod sliced into pins may make for a cheap alternative.
