Purchased this saw for my husband at Sears and he loves it! It took a little assembly before being able to use it. Saw works great for cutting baseboards and is a nice size so that it doesn't take up the entire garage.
Purchased this saw to do some crown molding work around the house. Had no problems cutting through the 7 inch molding. I would recommend this item to friends.

I just unboxed this and the battery cover for the laser does not close with the batteries inserted. There 2 big screws that hold the battery holder onto the saw. The screws are too big and make the batteries not sit deep enough. This is obviously a design flaw. Returning and not taking my chance on buying a Craftsman.

This is the second time using this saw and today the trigger pull assembly broke. It is held on with 2 bolts and a very, very cheap plastic bracket. This is an inferior, dangerous design as you are applying pressure while lowing the handle/trigger-pull that operates the saw blade. The bracket should be made out of metal. Won't buy another Craftsman product from this point on.

My model is three years old, just outside the extended warranty... Has maybe 15 minutes of operational use. The handle broke off and is now hanging by the wires. Cheap plastics are to blame to this. The mount should at least been secured or strengthen with metal since it is a pressure point for wear. Very disappointed to spend my money on this kind of 'quality'. While I do not know the quality of the new miters, this is merely a warning of Craftman's lack of quality and thought in this product. But, the blade and motor still function as intended and show no lack in competence when cutting.
I have a larger dual bevel miter and it is a bit heavy. I went to sears look for a smaller miter..I both the 10" miter for its mobility. The price great and as always craftsman tools are warranty for 1-5 years depending on the tools u buy.. 80% of my tools come from craftsman. You will like the price.....I always brows the store of websites for good deals from sears tools. Be cool people.
