No complaints.
Bottom line: This is a great saw for the money. It is perfect for occasional projects and would likely fit the needs of the weekend warrior. This saw is not a professional grade piece of equipment and would likely be insufficient for contractor or prosumer use. The key feature that sold me on this saw is the expanded rip capacity. This is a feature that is not on all saws in the price range. Expanded rip capacity is something worth considering if you plan on using this saw to do dado cuts on 4X4?s as may be necessary if you are building a farmhouse table (which is obviously what I did). The stand is a nice touch. This saw is a carbon copy of the Ryobi RTS21. This is not to be confused with the Ryobi RTS20 which has a key failure point in the the bevel lock mechanism. The Ryobi RTS21 and thus the Craftsman Model #34972 appear to have remedied this bevel lock problem. I encountered no issues. The saw is intended for occasional use and it does a fine job.

Not much of a machine, small to med. items only
bought this one week ago the legs are flimsy and will not hold much weight ,the plastic hold pins on the corners are cheep ,one has broken off already when I tired to take the head off the legs to store. these pins are located right on the corners pictured in black right above the legs.miter gauge groves has a dimple in two places so its hard to make or use 1/2 "runners on a sled,so you end up with a slightly off centered cutting sled. It is fine for carrying around on light jobs such as window frames, that I'm using them on now.. If you want to use this unit for heavier then I suggest making a table where it might sit in the middle with enough table on both sides and at cutting table height.. its cheep but if that's all you need and you understand there are limitations.

Good dependable saw for the homeowner who loves to work with wood

I have had no problems working with this saw. This $200 saw not a professional quality saw and it's not expected to be. But for me , as a homeowner who occasionally embarks on projects, it's the ticket for what my needs are. I couldn't imagine doing the projects I do without the capability of this saw. This 10 inch table saw saw and my sears 10" miter saw are the two most valuable tools in my shop.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Worth cost of shipping (which was free)

My saw arrived with 4 broken parts. I called Sears to get replacements only to be told they didn't have any "in stock" so if I wanted the parts I would have to order and PAY for them from Sears partsdirect.com. Talk about non-customer service! After finally receiving the parts 3 months later (some were backordered) I got my saw together and went to work yesterday cutting some 4x8 sheets of plywood. The first problem was the guide. It did not clamp tight so as soon as I put a sheet of plywood against it, it popped off the table. Ok, easy fix, I tightened the tension screw, reinstalled and remeasured. I got about half way through the first sheet when I realized the backside of the plywood was really bending. Curious, as I had pulled out the support bracket on the back of the saw to support it. When I finally finished my cut (I won't bore you with details of how) I realized that the support bracket was bent down at almost a 45 degree angle! Since I was working outside, I had to back my truck up to the saw so the plywood could slide into the bed of the truck as I cut in order to finish the job. I don't see any point of replacing that support bracket. A new one would bend just as easily. Now I have a support bracket that is stuck at a totally useless 45 degree angle. I suppose I'll just take it off. The only thing worth owning on this saw is the replacement blade I installed, a Freud Diablo. The factory blade was so cheap I didn't even bother trying to cut with it. Sears Craftsman quality (and service) has gone the way of the Dodo bird. Don't buy it. JUST SAY NO!!!

Pretty darn good but...

I am a big Craftsman fan and received this saw as a gift. However other saws on the market may be better for some people. The mitre slot is not the industry standard 3/4, but rather 5/8. The mitre gauge does not have predrlled holes to mount an auxiliary fence and the fence only locks in on one side and requires being squared up each time. Aside from those minor details, the cut is good and the amount of saw for he money is a good value. I would still recommend it for a weekend warrior to whom Craftsman is geared for anyways

Plenty of power and light.

Set up is quick and easy just a couple of minutes and it's ready. I keep the saw in the shed and get it out when I need it. Great value and the extension helps because I cut a lot of 24" boards.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman 10 inch portable table saw

First I have many craftsman products electrical and mechanical. They. Never let me down. I especially like working with wood and usually working around the house. I recently had a tree fall on the house and did some damage to the soffet. Having the right tools to the job always helps.Anyways I needed to use a table saw so I pulled out the old one from shed and realized it was time to upgrade to do a better job and save time. Got this sears craftsman table saw for great price on sale. It has an extended fence that is very nice to have. Did what I needed to get accomplished and now I have a new toy. Nice unit and very satisfied.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Not for woodworking

When this saw was built it's obvious that the designers did not speak to woodworkers before production. This saw would fit the purpose of a contractor nicely, however: as for a woodworker the design is drastically flawed. 1- The miter gauge track is punched out which would be fine if it were smooth sided, this one however has flanges that lock in the miter gauge bar. This is detrimental to a woodworker as we all when building furniture or cabinets like to build a "sled" to make the work easier and safer. You can't just put a piece of hardwood into these tracks due to the flanges. 2- The on/off switch should be a "safety" switch however when you turn off the saw the switch should be easy to find and shut the saw off without hesitation. Not only due to design is this switch cumbersome to find, it must be pushed with deliberation in order to turn off the power. This being a safety switch, when touched it should pop the power off without hesitation. -THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE- 3- The throat plate on these saws allow too much room between the throat and blade to make narrow cuts safely, unfortunately, by design, a woodworker can not build a zero clearance throat plate to fit the throat. I purchased this saw due to affordability. Unfortunately I'm disabled without means of returning the saw therefore I'm just stuck with it. Now, after having used this saw I would by no means refer it to a woodworker. The designers of these saws should touch base with real woodworkers to see what works and what doesn't. As for this saw for woodworkers, it doesn't!
