A Craftsman 10' Sliding Compound Miter Saw Gets the Job Done Precisely Right

Smooth cutting with laser guided precision, lightweight, portable and slicing seamlessly through thick materials, the Craftsman 10' single bevel sliding compound miter saw is the perfect addition to a jobsite and home shop alike. Spinning at 4,800 revolutions per minute, no matter which blade you slip onto the collar of this compound, you'll cut through wood both hard and soft, leaving sharp edges and tight corners with every cut.

Perfect for quick work, this saw features a Laser Trac that clearly lines up with your pencil marks for fast work and when you're looking to cut precision miters, the built-in clamping system gives you that exact angle every time. The Craftsman 10" compound miter saw delivers precision and versatility that you can count on.

  • The Craftsman 10' sliding compound miter saw features a 15.0 Amp motor that delivers high torque and speed
  • Include compound miter saw, blade, dust bag, blade wrench, clamp and extensions
  • Studs, joists and posts cut easily with the dual slide bearing rail system
  • Telescoping aluminum extensions with stop block provide additional support for longer work pieces
  • Laser Trac not only gives you an accurate cut line, but doesn't ever run out of batteries
  • The 0-50 degree miter adjustment includes common positive stops for accurate cuts on the fly
  • 60 carbide teeth give the 10-inch saw blade more life and bite than others
  • Aluminum construction is durable and easy to move from home to jobsite

Sliding mitre saw
This is a terrific value for the money. It performs as well if not better than other brands costing up to twice as much. It is easy to use and has safety first features. Do not see why anybody would want a non-sliding mitre saw (that most others sell for about same as this) when they can have this one.

Craftsman's Slipping
I purchased this saw after killing a cheap model on home restoration. Directly out of the box the angles were right on, upon attempting to make a cut one of the guard screws fell out obviosly stripped due to poor design. The problem with the dust collection is also a design flaw I taped a small piece of cardboard to the rear of the blade housing and noticed a huge increase in the sawdust actually making it in the bag. I grew up on craftsman tools but as cheap labor moves in on every aspect of life i'm afraid quality isn't what it used to be.

Very Good Value for the Money

I bought this to replace an older miter saw. This has the advantage of being able to cut relatively wide boards. I found the saw to be pretty accurate and straight cutting right out of the box. I was pleased with the quality of the 60 tooth carbide blade and the smoothness of the cut. I read feedback from people saying that the saw did not eject sawdust very well into the sawdust bag. If you remove the bag and look into the sawdust outlet port on top (with the power off, of course) I saw that the casting of the blade guard in that area internal to the saw where the sawdust has to pass had metal ribs that stuck out into the discharge area and significant amounts of waste metal flashing from the casting process. I assume the protruding ribs inside the sawdust discharge port are some sort of safety arrangement. You can knock out the excess flashing with a screwdriver. Clearing the sawdust discharge path greatly improves the ability of the dust collection to work without clogging.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Very nice machine

A clean and simple design that's worked exceptionally well on the few test cuts I've done so far. Needed hardly any setup and cut square and true right out of the box. And the laser was on the money. The sawdust collector, as others have noted, is virtually worthless. And you have to move the fence forward when cutting a rabbet. But, for the money, this is a great tool and worthy of the Craftsman name. Will be getting a workout soon as I help replace a friend's deck railings. If it lets me down, we'll let you know.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Not Cutting Straight

This is a very good product for the amount of money but I cannot get this saw to cut square. The problem is with the blade, it cuts okay once if the board is within 3 inches. Anything wider, one end is way off. I try replacing the blade and now looking to see if I can adjust the fence.

Will not saw square cuts

I bought the saw. On one side you get a square cut. From the other side, would not saw square cut. Fence molded crooked. Took saw back to Sears and they were nice to get me another one. Same problem with the other new saw. I had to attach shimmed boards to the fence and I finally got the saw to saw a square cut from both sides. This was a lot of trouble and time to spend on a new saw. I guess the saw would be OK for rough cuts where squareness was not an issue. Not recommended for a woodworking shop.
