Sliding mitre saw
This is a terrific value for the money. It performs as well if not better than other brands costing up to twice as much. It is easy to use and has safety first features. Do not see why anybody would want a non-sliding mitre saw (that most others sell for about same as this) when they can have this one.

Craftsman's Slipping
I purchased this saw after killing a cheap model on home restoration. Directly out of the box the angles were right on, upon attempting to make a cut one of the guard screws fell out obviosly stripped due to poor design. The problem with the dust collection is also a design flaw I taped a small piece of cardboard to the rear of the blade housing and noticed a huge increase in the sawdust actually making it in the bag. I grew up on craftsman tools but as cheap labor moves in on every aspect of life i'm afraid quality isn't what it used to be.

Saw nice, sears delivery not so much

The saw itself is great and just what I need for home improvement projects. But receiving it was a bit of a pain as Sears really messed up. They sent me a vacuum cleaner! The customer service was helpful, but it still was annoying that I had to deal with returning the vacuum, waiting till that return processed, and then reordering the saw.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

great saw for the money

Light weight, miters are right on. Takes a bit to get use to previously had a Radial arm saw. It died after 35 years. New saw was great right out of the box. Laser is Left of the cut line so its perfect if you are feeding the wood from the left however you have to allow for it if you are feeding the wood from the right. The only negative I have is the dust bag, ( useless ) troughs a ton of saw dust very little in the bag. Other than that its a great saw.

It's a keeper.

Bought this saw a couple weeks ago and at first I wasn't too impressed. The factory set up left a lot to be desired but after a couple hours of adjusting the machine I was happy with the results. I have been told that I am demanding in many ways. At the age of 75 it's O.K. this miter saw has really impressed me, so did the router I bought the next day. Craftsman lived up to it's name. No doubt about it.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Not Impressed

Purchased this saw after my 10 yr old miter finally died. For the price I thought the saw had great features, especially the slider. After a week of using the saw on a project the main issue I had with the saw was the excessive movement in the miter settings or detents. Without screwing in the miter lock the blade will wiggle a degree and a half either way. When I would screw down the miter lock it would pull about a degree to the right. I found it too difficult to get an exact cut. I ended up returning and getting a different brand. Also, laser was off and no dust collection even w/ vac hooked up. Sliding feature is great, but that's about it.

Perfect tool for many household diy projects

I snatched this up on sale for a gift and was told it is a perfect tool for the do- it-yourself homeowner. This tool made cutting the laminate flooring and getting those angles cut perfect to fit the corner trim a breeze.

Great for any job

Didn't want to purchase a 500.00 miter saw, but I didn't want to purchase a 99.00 one either. This saw is very well built and the 60 tooth blade that comes with it is very versatile. I've used it for several projects so far ranging from updating some crown moulding to cutting through 2x4's to make a garage table. Very pleased

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great saw for the low price

I was in the market for a new saw and didn't have a lot of money to spend on one. Checked out the competition, but decided to go with Craftsman because every other tool in my garage is Craftsman. The saw works just as good, if not better than some of the more expensive ones on the market. The saw is surprisingly accurate and fences are square right out of the box. What really surprised me was that the laser was almost spot on. The laser aims left of the blade about 1/8th of an inch. Once you get that down, you don't even have to eye up the blade to your mark before cutting. I have made several projects since buying the saw and everything has been square and to length. Also, the sliding feature has no play in it even when extended all the way out. Another feature I like is the depth stop. You can control the depth of your cut and use it like a radial arm saw. In all, I am glad I decided to purchase this saw. I feel it will last me for many years.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
