Excellent for the price
I picked this up on sale and recently noticed a lesser rated trailer of similar size for more money at the cheap h/w store making this a good buy in my opinion. Responding to some other comments I'd say: No it doesn't need a swing tailgate. Next model up has this and it's not removable...I want to lift and slide heavy things in not lift them over the sides. Make it with removable hinges and that would be ok. Bolts are all the same size making assembly very nice. I second that and had no problems single-person building this trailer. Someone commented that you can't use the rated weight because the tires are only rated 400. That's just wrong. No different than a car or large trailer...no one tire is rated for the full weight. The rating is certainly 800 over the axle and 200 over the drive axle of the tractor. Basically the same physics of a real trailer. You could up the tire rating but then it would probably be rated higher than 1000... I typically pop a bead on my wheelbarrow when the pressure is below recommendation. I can't say for sure yet but suspect some of these issues may be that (possibly due to a leak)... but still check before hauling heavy. The manual shows the wheel P/N so hard to believe it would be hard to get but it looks identical to the one mentioned above from the cheap h/w store if Sears doesn't have it. I tried many ways to cause the latch to come undone and couldn't make it happen without pulling it. I can see where debris build-up might cause it not to fully engage forward at the bottom slot so checking that is probably good under load rather than just slaming it down and assuming it's fully latched. Also, there is a hole in the lever and another on the rear of the tongue that would allow a bungee for added assurance. Some things I noted: I'd like to see stronger bracing in the rear since the tailgate doesn't help hold the sides together. Some form of small stake pockets would be nice as I'd like to dump more lightweight maple leaves in per load so I'll need to modify for that to get more side height. There should be an elevated grab handle on the tongue since with the light leaves I found it easier to push the trailer around then bother to start the lawn tractor (that accesory is available for light boat trailers). The fit and finish are very good. It is lightweight and easy to move by hand. I don't recall the instructions reminding me but remember to fill the hubs with grease at the grease zerks if you have a grease gun or pull them off and pack the insides (if not done at assembly). I anticipate this working well to move some heavy items and firewood to and from the shop and for distributing bark dust around the yard. If the weels really don't perform I'll look for a wheel/tire combo that fits that axle diameter.

Poor quality tires spec'ed
The wheels and tires that came with this trailer have been thoroughly addressed by many reviewers for their inability to handle the loads. Also problematic is the width of the tires. In soft ground they punch through ensnaring the trailer and tractor. A solution I've used is obtaining front wheels and tires from a lawn tractor and using those since they're the same axle diameter. You will have to cut away some material from the dump bed support plate to accomodate the additional clearance but it provides about 4X the flotation in soft ground.

Pay for what you get

Just picked up the cart today of course it was damaged. Found out there was more metal in the nuts and bolts than there is in the cart. The metal is so thin you can easily bend the sides. The center gap where both side fit together captures all the dirt and debris. Not impressed with cart at all. Don't expect it to last to long

Works for us!

Easy Assembly! Glad we purchased this larger size cart, originally was planning on the 10 ft. cart. This one had better reviews with a much larger load capacity. Dump feature is really handy! No more dragging yard waste out to street! Sweet! Would have given 5 stars. Sheet Metal of cart on the thin side.for me.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
