As a woodworking instructor and retired contractor, I like these clamps, but with average hand strength, these clamps can be easily overtightened and the tightening mechanism broken. When I purchased these clamps, I thought they would be covered by the standard Craftsman hand tool warrant.....Wrong...The warranty is good for only one year. However, with moderate use, they are a good clamp.

It's amazing how easy this thing is to use (I've been told it takes little to amuse myself). You just slide the main part of the clamp up to whatever you are clamping and squeeze. It's that easy. Or, you could press the red button on the other end, swap ends with it, and use it as a pusher. I've never had a clam so easy to use. Thank you, Craftsman!

I own this clamp, a 6 inch and a 36 inch. You can never have enough clamps for your project. My best advice, is to spend the extra cash on ones like this. I hate having to twist and twist clamps just to find out that I over or undertightened them. This one is full proof. You pull on the release, slide to your clamp size, and tighten the trigger. Done! No more mared wood. The clamp has a rubber grip, and the jaws are deep enough for what I want to clamp together. I have used this clamp with framing when I need that quick extra hand to hold up a 2x4. It is super fast and easy. What makes this clamp stand out as different from other clamps is the ability to be used as a spreader. You push the button to realease the head, pop it on the other side, and you are ready to go. I can't recomend this enough, it is a great tool to have.

As a woodworking instructor and tool geek, I highly recommend this clamp. The pad pieces are reversible to use on both outside and inside clamping positions. And there is the Craftsman lifetime replacement warranty.

I bought some of these 12 inch bar clamps (and different lengths also). They are very strong- lots of clamping force and made well too. Have one that slips a bit now and then, but not bad enough to worry about- just give it another squeeze. The one handed operation is really nice if you are working by yourself. I have used them a lot. Be careful if you buy them though- they are so handy you'll want more!
