Craftsman 12 in Dual Bevel Sliding Compound miter Saw
I bought one for my son that he could use in remodeling his first home. I liked it so much it felt wrong he should have a better saw so I bought a second one for me. They are AWESOME saws packed with features to make just the cuts you need for crown molding or any other application.

Great saw, poor customer friendly resolutions to issues.
Great saw, plenty of power, easy and accurate adjustments. Assembly instructions could be improved with clear orientation of parts in diagrams. Just got the saw a couple weeks ago and the lazer was not even close to being adjusted. Repair only said to "tap" on it lightly! No help to adjust, instead need to drive over 2 hours to turn in for repair or ship. Alternatives are not fesable, time and cost. Just going to live with it. No one is responsible anymore.

      Excellent Saw!!

I have owned and been satisfied with a 7 1/4" craftsman miter saw for over 20 years. I needed a larger saw for a project I was working on. This saw was on sale and appeared to be what I needed. I was very pleased with the performance and quality of this saw. It has more features than big name saws in this price range. An excellent value!!!

      Excellent saw but......

This saw had everything I was looking for. Good price, top notch build quality etc. everything was there for getting every option needed. The only thing that wasn't there which was unacceptable was the miter lock. The design is flawed in my opinion as it did not hold the angle steady. No matter what happened it always was able to move 1-2 degrees either way. In short it wiggled without effort. I attempted to tighten the miter lock by simply threading out the rubber stop, but no matter how far out I threaded it it would still wiggle. At a certain point the cast iron that holds the miter lock broke. The lock was then completely broke. I am relatively inexperienced with miter saws but feel that there is nothing that will remove this problem except a complete redesign of this piece. Otherwise it will simply provide innacurate cuts.

      Awesome tool

This saw is the most useful tool in my shop. I use it almost every day. But I must warn potential buyers that it is BIG. Make sure you have a suitable site for it. My only negative comments are that the "Know Your Product" illustration in the User Manual was very poor. I suggest that, instead of giving a description of the items on the illustration, that a number be used and that a detailed description be given referencing that number on an adjacent page. Some of the assembly hardware items were hard to find. For example, the thumbscrew that holds the shaft of the hold down device was found with the dust bag. The Up Front Bevel Lock control is screwed in counterclockwise and it became disconnected when I turned it clockwise.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Awesome Saw

After purchasing this saw I can tell you it is worth every penny. I had the 10" craftsman that comes with the cheap metal stand and it did an ok job, but this saw does it all and after calibrating the blade it is very precise and make my projects much easier and they look more professional because of the accuracy.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Okay but long time quality is not there.

I've had this saw for about 5 years. Actual use has been minimal. Used in small projects. Overall it has probably made 200 cuts. While I was making a cut yesterday the trigger handle broke off in the middle of a cut. No injuries but it was close. It is hard to find non Chinese built products these days but in the future I will strive to find them.

      It's got it all

The dual bevel is very convenient, and the 60 degree miter is nice too. The laser is a big hard to see in daylight, and its easy to saw right through the fence if you're not careful. Overall I'm very happy with it.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
