Plastic tips on this hammer are designed to wear away as they protect the surface being struck. Replacement is as easy as prying off the old tip and popping on the new one.
- Forged, high carbon, quality steelhead. Supplied with replaceable tips, one soft red and one hard yellow. Flame treated hickory handle.

The Craftsman Plastic Tip Hammer is durable and an excellent choice when working on material that requires you to be strong but not mark your finished product. We use this hammer when making jewelry and find it extremely useful and of the utmost quality in this type of tool. We used to be able to replace the tips out when they crack but Craftsman replaces the total hammer and so we always have the best tool available when we need it. I would recomment this hammer above all others.

This hammer works great, it is very helpful for those small jobs where you dont want to damage whatever material you are working with. I like that they have 2 different materials on each side-a hard plastic and a soft rubber mallet head.

This is a very nice product. I have used this product for years. It is quality made and will stand the test of time for sure. Craftsman tools are the best for the money. I think I?ve changed the tips once but that was after using it for years on small nailing projects. These are truly the toughest tools on the planet.
