I really wanted this to work, and I really liked the idea of having my craftsman reversible ratcheting wrenches in here... Now for the problems it has 12 slots, 7 bigger ones on the bottom and 5 small ones on the top... However if you use the small ones you cant fold it.... if you don't fold it, the small ones fall out!!!! This is NO Bueno!!!!! I figure ok I'll make it work, I doubled up wrenches on the 7 bigger slots Problem is the straps are TOOO short now, and the double up wrenches ate into the roll tearing it up Again NO BUENO!!!! Mine is really old, and gets used once a month if that, and it is all tore up, The straps are tearing away from the roll and the wrenches box end are tearing at the material ... So get it if you find it on Sale, and I mean 50% off, then only if you would like to use the seven bottom slots.... at 50% off this gets three stars
I bought this on sale as an easy storage solution for my wrenches. I have several tools that don't fit well into a drawer and the roll up pouch helps to keep the wrenches organized and takes up less space in the drawer. The organizer is well made and durable and at a reasonable price even when not on sale.
This roll is well made from quality material. It fits a variety of wrench sizes, although the largest open ended wrench that i could fit is 20mm (3/4). It could be used for other tools too; chisels, punches, screwdrivers, etc. Overall, great pouch.
I own 5 of these and they have all held up very well. My only wish is that Craftsman would offer a few different options besides the 8 or 12 pocket designs. I have many Craftsman sets that are a few wrenches plus or minus and would like to be able assemble a pouch where they fit. Their next pouch up is a 14 pocket but it is huge and does not fit well for say a flare wrench set. I like this product allot just need more options!
I like this because is has 12 pockets and can hold small wrench. Wrench rolls to hold small wrenches are rare. Although it is made in China, as a wrench rolls, it is fine.
after seeing all the complaints, I was kinda worried, but figured I would give it a try, and in the end, I am kinda glad I did. There are some design flaws with this setup, but in the end, for my needs, it works fine. here are some things to watch for, explanation about some complaints about it, and ways to improve it. First, the complaint about the straps. The way that it is designed, it is made so that the strap goes all the way around, then you have to loop it through a plastic loop back ring. After you slide the strap through that slot, you then have to back wrap it around, back over the strap going backwards, to get the velcro to stick. This, in a way is a bad design because if you brake that piece of plastic, there is no way to back loop the strap. a simple solution would have been for them to put the end velcro piece on the other side so you just wrap it around until it runs out of length and sticks to itself. You could sew on a piece of the velcro on the other side and do this yourself. There were complaints about the strap being too short. I can not say for sure. i can say that I put 10 wrenches in mine and they work fine for the 10 wrenches that I have, but mine are all flat ratcheting wrenches. this may, or may not, be a problem for someone using it with 2 more wrenches that are of larger sizes (around 7/8" size), or the extra space used for ones with the 15 degree angled boxed ends. I have not tried them so I can not say for sure. My next complaint is country of manufacturer. Considering this is craftsman, I would think that they would have made them here, in the USA, but instead, this is made in china. Very disappointing. The wrenches are staggered, so like others stated, unless you do not plan on using the top 5 slots for the smaller wrenches, do not plan on folding this in half. it does not work. The complaints about the wrenches not being able to hold wrenches in all the slots, and being able to use all the slots. I can say this. I bought a set of the gearwrench brand flat ratcheting wrenches. It was a 20 piece set, 10 metric, 10 standard. The standard, or inch size, went from 1/4" to 3/4" They fit in the slots fine, going from the smallest to the largest, leaving the 2 very largest slots free so if i get the next 2 sizes up, the 13/16" and 7/8" later, i can just put them in the last 2 slots. I would imagine that the people complaining about it may have had larger sized wrenches, looking at 1" or larger that they were trying to put in. above 7/8" would be pushing it, if they fit in at all would be my guess, at least by the size of the slots. The material is of good quality so you can expect that it will hold up for years. the top 5 slots are good for smaller sizes, but putting anything in there large will not fit, because the top 5 were not made for larger size wrenches, and vise versa, the lower row is not made for small wrenches so expect that smaller wrenches will fall out of the lower row.
It does't hold a Craftsman 12 pc. wrench set too well, but would work if one of the straps was longer.Don't need 2 short straps,1 long one would be better. Not recommending because it should hold 12 wrenches. I'm going to modify the strap and keep it though because the bigger 12 wrench roll's pockets are too deep.
