Good for truck or RV tires
I was leery about a small compressor being able to top off my 16" RV tires to 80 psi, but this one does it quickly. Took less than a minute to go from 75 to 80. Much better than the 75 cent compressors at gas stations. It brought my mini-van tires from 20 to 35 psi in under a minute too. My only complaint so far is that the gauge is not accurate while the compressor is running, so you have to turn off the compressor for the gauge to stabilize, but it seems accurate when the unit is off. The instructions even say to do it this way.

Owned a craftsman inflator for 12 years (still runs but power switch is going bad abd hose is getting dry rotted) so loyaly (craftsman fan) went to sears for a replacement. Wanted this to be my new go to replacement for the next 10+ years. It lasted 10 minutes, inflates quick but the locking end is cheap plastic and it broke on the 2nd tire. Took back, exchanged and the second one broke on fourth tire. Poor engineering choice ruins the whole inflator. Only other complaint is the feet, they have too much bouncey travel and it tips too much on uneven ground. Otherwise it could have been a great product for the little bit of money they saved in manufacturing with the cheap tip.

Doesn't hold air. Have to overinflate & check pressure manually.

I purchased this for car, bike and RV tires. Filled up bike tires and the unit does not hold air. Had to overinflate and check manually. It does fill tires quickly, but air leaks through system fast making the pressure gauge worthless. Nozzle also sticks to valve stem. I thought it might be a defective unit, but now reading other reviews that say the same thing. I will be returning this today for a refund. I'm surprised at the poor quality for a Craftsman.

Defective product

Nice construction, but defective mechanical design. The check valve leaked from the day I brought it home, as others have mentioned - I should have returned it immediately, but just lived with the problem. Now the pump just freezes up 80% of the time. Checked on line - sorry - replacement parts are not available. Time to toss it in the trash and get a new one - NOT a Craftsman!

should have read the reviews first

purchased this inflator in july, to keep my bicycle tires topped off. used it maybe 15-20 times, worked great initially, until about 3 mos later when it became impossible to get the valve onto the stem of my bike tire, or any car tire, as well. i went back to sears and they refused to take it back, pointing out to me that the warranty does not cover the valve! imagine that! the valve is not one that can be changed, so i called sears, and then craftsman, only to be met with representatives that were incapable of understanding the problem, even though there are many complaints on this site about just the problem i have. hard for me to imagine that sears would knowingly ignore the problems with this product and continue to sell it, and then refuse to stand behind it. i will never buy another thing from sears, what ever happened to integrity? when i was investigating buying an inflator, i purposely went to sears with the idea that at least sears would stand behind their product. shame on me for believing such nonsense! shame on you, sears and craftsman, for duping the public.

Good, but ...stem valve problem

It's great to have something like this to inflate tires, balls, etc.  But, as others have noted, the stem valve doesn't fit smoothly on a tire valve so it will often vibrate off when it's running.  Early on it was just slightly a hassle but now it has gotten so bad I can't even get it onto the valve stem.  When I called under the warranty, as directed on the website, they said I have to take it to a store which was also disappointing.  While I was initially adequately happy with this item, I'm losing faith in it and Sears./Craftsman.  I wouldn't recommend this based on my experience.

Also, pressure gauge doesn't seem to correspond to tire pressure.

Fastest Inflator EVER!

I replaced my old inflator that had worked faithfully for 20 years with this bigger, faster model.

The GOOD news:  This modfel is definitely faster than any other home use inflator I've ever used.  I'd estimate that the time to add 5 pounds in a tire is about 30 seconds.  It used to take a few minutes with my old inflator.

I read the other reviews about the chuck sticking on the valve stems, but did not have any problem attaching, locking, or removing the chuck.  It was easy on and easy off.  Maybe they've improved the design.

The BAD news:  As mentioned in other reviews, the vibration is above average and the little suction cup feet don't do anything to help.  The vibratiojn is bad enough that the tire pressure gauge is unreadable.  Sure, you shouldn't rely on the built-in tire pressure gauge exclusively, but knowing whether you're somewhere near the pressure you want would be pretty convenient.  As it is, you have to guess when to stop putting in air, check with your "real" pressure gauge, and then continue to fill the tire.  (SIGH).  This partially replaces the faster inflation time with more time required to check inflation progress.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Works great, if you can fit the hose over the valve.

My new bicycle has tires that need about 100 PSI. My old inflator could not handle the load. This was supposed to be the replacement that would do the trick. Despite the high price and the large size, I bought it because it had everything I needed. The hose is long enough. So is the power cord. The operation was surprisingly quiet. Everything about it was great, except for the most crucial thing. The hose connector did not fit over the valve! I had to force it down with all of my might and it still did not fit properly. Then I had to wrestle it off of the stem. I took it back and bought another product at another store, at half the price, smaller, easier to operate and works just fine.

Craftsman inflator is not worth the price

The connector is made of cheap plastic and once it breaks, the entire unit is worthless. You cannot use it once the main connection piece breaks off.
