This weed trimmer replaced another Craftman weed trimmer I had for 20 years, and this one is 20 times better. It's lighter, faster, and easier to use. I highly recommend it especially for the low price.

This trimmer looks great. It is lightweight and adjustable for smaller or taller people. The price is crazy low and easy to lift. If you want to trim your grass with this then you bought the wrong thing. This trimmer does not do what it is supposed to do. The line continuously feeds and then wraps around the spinning shaft. Sometimes the string will actually cut on the cutting blade and fly into your leg which feels great. I even went to Sears to buy a new pre-lined spool in case my MBA did not prepare me to put line on correctly and it did the same thing. I only purchased this because my wife wanted something easy enough for her to use. Well, as you can guess, she has never tried it and I get stuck trying to use it. Do not waste any money on this at all. Go to lunch at Chilis instead.

For the low end, corded trimmer, it does the job. Pretty inexpensive and a great value.

To sweeten the deal, i had a coupon to take an additional 10 bucks off the price. Brought it home, easy assembly, got to work. My yard isn't that big but has a nasty combination of grass in it. This has more than enough power to take down anything in its path. The little critters were running for cover! Its not that heavy, but it would be helpful to switch hands while working. The shaft adjust easily for average heights, people over six feet might have to bend down a tad. The cutting head tilts to three positions so you can edge your lawn as well. The only knock i have against it, when you bump feed the line, a lot bumps out, wasting quite a bit of line. Overall a great trimmer for everybody at this price point.

I was surprised when an online review search named this item second best among several options...and it was half or less the price of most.

Have been some minor changes since I purchased mine, (1) mine is 4.6 amp (2) had the option to go with roll of string and use the "bump" method or switch out one part and use the 12 inch length string. Which is good because you don't have to spend the extra cash buying the pre-cut ones, you can buy a roll of the nylon string and cut it into a lot of 12 inch strips! You can also use a slightly heavier gauge nylon which doesn't wear down as fast. This isn't meant for heavy duty jobs, but works great for normal trimming. Back when I purchased mine they were running $39.99, now they are $29.99. I would safely say that in going on its' 5th year I have many times over regained my investment. Not sure if new models have the option to switch out from spool to pre-cut nylon string, if it does, that is the best route to go.

EASY TO PUT TOGETHER. HAVE ONLY USED IT THREE TIMES, BUT DOES THE JOB. NOT TOO HEAVY (I'M 73) AND THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE.

Great value for an edger. Only downfall is that the line is too light. All the rest of the features are great. Would be an ideal unit for smaller property. Lots of power but with line it wears quickly.
