Made in China. That should just about sum it up. Knowing that it was made in China, I babied this thing. I used the correct tapping fluid. I was very careful not to over torque it, and I cleaned out the shavings every cut! The dumb thing still broke. It ruined a $140 part. Caveat emptor. The only bright spot is that Sears took it back without any problems. Thank you for that Sears.

I just bought this tap set, I haven't used the drill bits, just the taps for repairing threads. Works well, seems like a quality tool.

All I needed, really, was a 4-40 tap. This was all I could find at the Sears store. ***** & Home Desperate don't carry taps around here any more. :( Found out later that the Sears Hardware does carry individual taps. Decided to keep the kit anyway since I didn't have one with a case. It's kind of nice to have it all in one package. Not sure yet how the taps & drill bits will do in steel. We'll see.

Great little set. The taps are made of good tool steel. they dont break off very easy. The Drills are very sharp and also stay that way. Surprising quality for the price.

I was glad to see that Sears had a good selection of tap/die sets. I picked this one because I really wanted quality, but not a huge (expensive) set. Good value; good tool; right size; right price

Items in the picture are not included in the kit. What's included is fine, but Sears has a serious problem with their online store. Many items, including this one, are misrepresented by pictures and not accurately described, or lacking description on this website. In store associates are worthless as well when presented with product pages from the website. Convenience and price are the only reason I shop sears. Their service is a riddled web of poorly constructed web features and untrained associates.

I was impressed with the price and the quality of the tap set. Used it to tap hardware fasteners onto a new aluminum sailboat mast. After ten taps, its still perfect. The instruction paperwork, at first, seemed insufficient, however, they actually gave more information on tapping than I could find on the internet. Good package...great price. Thanks Sears.
