I picked this item up on sale from Sears. I used it to prune the high branches out of a lilac and saw the dead out of two trees with no problems. The lopper did not bind up or get stuck like some of the cheaper models do. The saw blade cuts nicely but it can be difficult to get started when the pole is near its full extension. Once the pole is extended to about 12 ft. or longer, it can become a bit unweildly. That has improved with use so I think that may be more operator issue than tool issue. Also, this is quite a workout on your shoulders, so don't over do it your first time out if you don't do this kind of work often.
I would recommend this tool to a friend or family member.

I didn't expect to be able to trim and saw so easy with this tool, however; it made cleaning, pruning, and trimming a snap. The trees look so much better after a winter of non-maintenance. I like this tool, it really helps with pruning and trimming.

everything works fine except the screw and nut that holds the blade keeps falling off. Now the screw thread is stripped.

I bought this item to trim some trees in my backyard from time to time. It's much nicer than other (cheaper) pruners that I've used. The handle has a nice pad so your hands don't get tired. This item will be a big help and the best part is, it's covered under the Craftsman warranty...

i bought one of these 8 years ago and loved it. bought this one for my son and didnt realize when i bought it that they had changed the design of the cutting part. I hate it. why cant they leave a good product alone. this was not an improvement!

I bought this pruner to trim palm trees and It was a waste of money. 1). Its too heavy 2). the blade is dull 3). the telescoping pole either gets stuck or will not stay connected. Save your money on this piece of junk.

I was lucky enough to pick this up on sale. I bought it and put it to use right away. After about a week of using it the metal head which hooks the branch and hides the blade actually snapped. Part was due to the fact I may have been trying to cut a branch slightly bigger than this was intended for. I took it back to sears and got a brand new one. No trouble. No questions asked. I realized then that this was made for small branches and if I need to cut down anything larger than about an inch I would have to put the saw extention on. So my advise. Remember what it is intended to cut. Don't try to over due it and you will be happy with this.

Long and sturdy for reaching tall limbs impossible to reach easily. 14' reach gets to most of the higher branches I needed to cut. Rope and handle were quite strong.
