      Junk Batteries

I received this 14.4 volt Drill and Flashlight set from my wife Christmas of 2009. Seldom used the drill, but when I did the battery (both of them) would die in about an hour. When used as a Flashlight it would last about 30 minutes of continuous operation. Now I notice that Sears does not even sell any 14,4 volt Drills or sets like mine. They must have all gone bad and were taken back. I wish I could take mine back. I should have asked for a DeWalt set. Even though it would have cost more, it would have lasted for years. Now I have 2 bad Batteries and a useless Drill AND Flashlight set!!!

      does not fit

we purchased this for an older model cordless drill as we were told it was the correct battery for our model. It was not. Apparently, Craftsman has changed the design as there are notches in the design of the plastic that will not allow it to fit in the drill or charger. As a loyal Craftsman customer, it is very disappointing that they do not stand by their product. An otherwise good drill is now useless.

      Good Drill But Lousy Batteries-

My Wife gave me this Drill back in 2008. I like the Drill itself but the 14.4 Volt Battery does not hold a charge any longer than 10-15 minutes of continuous usage. Have already replaced one battery and it cost me $35.00 on **** which was a bargain considering the situation. In retrospect should have just purchased a new a Dewalt Drill on sale for $99.00. Also, The Craftsman name aint what it used to be!

      Low Capacity & Go Faulty

Much better selections out there for this kind of expense - and for a low performance battery. I have two of these. 50% failure. They never exhibited durable performance - required frequent charging. This is inconvenient if you are (like me) in the trade. I'm looking for something better. Shame on Sears. I've been a long-time customer. Quality down, prices up. Not a good formula for adding revenue!

this is the 3 hour charge battery.

If you have the older 3 hour charge drill or accessories, this will work with your stuff. If you have the newer 1 hour charge EX or equal, this will not work with your stuff. Apparently Sears has discontinued the one hour charge 14.4 batteries.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

new design won't fit old tools

my husband owns several craftsman tools with rechargeable batteries. He has owned these tools for many years. Unfortunately Craftsman has redesigned the batteries and they don't fit his old tools.

Sears 18volt Drill and Circular Saw

My wife bought me this set for Christmas about five years ago. I was excited about the set and could not wait to use it. On my first try cutting a 4"X8" x 1/2" piece of plywood the battery ran out of power about half way through the cutting. I had to change the battery to finish cutting the pieces out of the plywood. Total battery life with the saw was 20 to 30 minutes. The batteries seemed to last longer with the drill. Overall I was disappointed with the batteries ' performance and over the last four years the batteries slowly lost power until about a year ago they wouldn't charge at all. I have lost faith in Sears Craftsman tools after this experience especially since they appear to have never made any attempt that I know of to improve the batteries' performance over the years, knowing full well that the batteries were inferior and would not hold a charge. In addition they have never allowed places like Batteries Plus to make batteries that fit Craftsman tools, whereas De Walt, Milwaukee, Skill etc. have allowed them to copy their battery profiles. I bought a Coleman 18volt drill for our camper for $19.95 about 8 years ago and the original batteries are still going strong. To bad Coleman doesn't make drills anymore or I'd buy another. I now use the Coleman for most if not all of my drilling needs.

Used for many years no problem

I purchased the drill driver over a decade ago along with a Makita. The Makita is long since gone and I am now needing to replace the Craftsman batteries. I use the tool several times a week and haven't had an issue until just recently as the batteries finally wore out. Compared to buying batteries for my 14.4 and 18 volt Dewalts these batteries are a steal. Hopefully the new batteries will perform like the old and the tool will wear out before this set of batteries does.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
