Used for many years no problem
I purchased the drill driver over a decade ago along with a Makita. The Makita is long since gone and I am now needing to replace the Craftsman batteries. I use the tool several times a week and haven't had an issue until just recently as the batteries finally wore out. Compared to buying batteries for my 14.4 and 18 volt Dewalts these batteries are a steal. Hopefully the new batteries will perform like the old and the tool will wear out before this set of batteries does.

I was on the site planning to replace these dead batteries from my combo set. I too used the drill maybe 4 times total and the batteries were either dead, or wont take a charge. Before someone assumes they were not "treated" properly, I would note that my old Milwaukee 12 V batteries stayed charged for months at a time, and I finally only replaced them after roughly ten years of use. Guess I wont replace these batteries but will throw the whole works.

new design won't fit old tools

my husband owns several craftsman tools with rechargeable batteries. He has owned these tools for many years. Unfortunately Craftsman has redesigned the batteries and they don't fit his old tools.

Sears 18volt Drill and Circular Saw

My wife bought me this set for Christmas about five years ago. I was excited about the set and could not wait to use it. On my first try cutting a 4"X8" x 1/2" piece of plywood the battery ran out of power about half way through the cutting. I had to change the battery to finish cutting the pieces out of the plywood. Total battery life with the saw was 20 to 30 minutes. The batteries seemed to last longer with the drill. Overall I was disappointed with the batteries ' performance and over the last four years the batteries slowly lost power until about a year ago they wouldn't charge at all. I have lost faith in Sears Craftsman tools after this experience especially since they appear to have never made any attempt that I know of to improve the batteries' performance over the years, knowing full well that the batteries were inferior and would not hold a charge. In addition they have never allowed places like Batteries Plus to make batteries that fit Craftsman tools, whereas De Walt, Milwaukee, Skill etc. have allowed them to copy their battery profiles. I bought a Coleman 18volt drill for our camper for $19.95 about 8 years ago and the original batteries are still going strong. To bad Coleman doesn't make drills anymore or I'd buy another. I now use the Coleman for most if not all of my drilling needs.

batteries are junk after 3 years

I am glad i read these reviews before i purchased replacement batteries. I like the drill and flashlight combo that i have had about 3 years but the batteries wont even charge anymore. I read the fine print on the products. "MADE IN CHINA" I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
