I waited a year before writing this review .The unit starts very easily and cuts right through even thick spots on the lawn.I purchased an extra blade when I bought it, but have not had to use it.The original is still going strong.I do use stabil fuel stabilizer for all my outdoor gasoline powered products.I use this machine weekly during the grass growing season to cut approximately 500 feet of edge grass.I push the primer 3x hold the handle down pull the cord and its running. Thanks for making such a reliable product.
Have only used it once so far and it works better than expected. i hadn't edged my sidewalks in over a year and it was pretty overgrown and the edger cut right through it with no problem. seemed to have more than enough power.
Overall happy with the assembly and performance but the curb height adjustment needs to drop the wheel down a little more to work for me. I guess designed for lower curbing.
First, the salesman at Sears was very helpful in helping me get the online price in the store plus shop your way points. Secondly, after returning home I removed it from box and assembled as per directions. This was not too difficult. I then serviced the engine and added gas. The engine started on the first pull. I was pleasantly surprised as to how well this edger cleaned up along the sidewalks. All in all I am vary pleased with this machine.
While it's a little lighter weight than the unit it replaced, also Craftsman, it is better in every way. My previous model had an excellent motor, also Briggs and Stratton, the rest of the edger was not so good, especially the "quill". This new edger so far seems like someone actually put some effort into the design. I like it.
Works great and good results. One major problem is created when the belt breaks. The engineering in this area could have been designed better to make it for the average person to replace the belt.
