Very lightweight for a high wheel mower
I had the same problem dsohio had. Brought mower home, set it up, mowed for about 15-20 minutes. Stopped to remove some fallen branches and tried to restart the mower. No luck. Walked around to the front and noticed gas streaming from the carburetor. It kept dripping until the tank was empty. Took it back and got another (same model). This time, the results were better. My previous Craftsman mower lasted 10 years. This mower is surprisingly light; it's almost like pushing a toy. My old Craftsman was MUCH heavier by comparison. Given the number of slopes and tree roots I mow around, that should be an advantage. It's also quieter than my old mower. Height adjustment is quick and easy and a tank of gas lasts longer. Easy to start and does a good job cutting. Except for the apparent quality control problem in manufacturing/assembly, this seems to be a reasonably good buy. Now I'll see if THIS one lasts 10 years.

Reasonablly Priced Mower
Well made mower but was I fooled, was easy to assemble handle, after putting in oil and gas mower started on the first pull and ran fine for a short while before it started chugging and running rough and soon began to die, after several starts it would not stay running, packed it up took it back, they do not test these machines before sending them out,if this review saves one buyer from the same grief I will be happy, will never buy another Sears mower after this.

first mower brought home would not start , nor second

We tried for several days to start the first mower before we returned it to Sears. The associates there could not start it either, but their first question was"Did you take out extended warranty?" AFTER FOUR DAYS????? We took the second one home and assembled it but it would not start. Our neighbor came to assist us and after he spent about two hours , he found an obstruction of glue in the fuel line between the gas tank and the carburator. It started then with first pull. We called Sears to tell them that they may have a problem but no one seemed concerned. When we returned the first mower , they took away our reward points and said there was no way they could get them back because we retuned the item????? We did get our points back after making a couple of calls.

So far so good

When I look at power equipment I look at the engine first.I'm a big fan of Briggs and Stratton engines.I had one similar to this one that got damaged in a storm. That one lasted over 12 years. I put gas and oil in it and it started on the first pull.Theres more plastic on this one so I'm curious to see how it will hold up.It is lighter than my old one because of the plastic. So we will see but so far so good.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Won't Start

Bought this mower last night, bought fresh gas and gas stabilizer and followed the directions completely. After 20 pulls of rope it won't start. Will drain oil and gas and return this later today. Quality of this brand is gone, will never buy anything craftsman again..

Works better than my Toro Recycler Mower

So light that pushing is a breeze. And the mulching is better than my Toro Recycler which is twice the price! Great Mower all around
