Not something you need every day or every month, but there is no alternative when it is needed. I had a pair for 25 years until they were stolen. To remove a nut on a round shaft I once stood on the pliers to hold the shaft while a friend loosened the nut. A typically tough Craftsman product.

Purchased this and a couple of other pliers to make my pliers set complete. MADE IN THE USA. That?s what I'm looking for in Craftsman tools, and have been watching what I buy from them as some tools are coming from China. Overall great set and would recommend to a family or friends. Grips on the pliers are good material and non-slip, feels solid in your hands. Great for large jobs, a must have for a tool set.

Do you remember in the movie Crocodile Dunde when he pulls out the knife on the dude trying to mug him and his woman and says that's not a knife,,,, this is a knife ? Well if you own a set of these you could do the same thing if your buddie is attempting to use a dinky set of pliers cause these are the biggest set of pliers I ever bought! As always the craftsman quallity is there and they function awesome and come with the best warranty around. unfortunately they ended up to be too big for the job I purchased them to complete so I ened up returning them for a pipe wrench because the space I was trying to get into was so narrow there was no way to open the jaws once I got in and positioned.... had there been just another inch or 2 of room it would have made my life much easier but hey I'll be back to buy them again once the need arises.

Good tool, hope the handle grips hold out, the material Craftsman uses for its pliers handles doesn't hold up to oil and such, they tend to slide off after a while. Hopfully they'll switch to somthing more like Cannel-Lock's material. But a very good tool none the less. I recomend them.

I am a certified heavy equiment tech,I had used many different brand of pliers but nothing like this one. Here is why: Very confortable handle grips. Big jaw. Exelent for all kind of task I perfomed every day. And the warranty is OUTSTANDING.

I am a mechanic, and this size arc pliers are very hard to find unless you want to pay a mint! These work great and are tough enough to be used as an everyday professional's tool!
