We went out of our way to purchase this Craftsman mallet because it had good reviews and Sears is known for quality. Within five minutes of when we first started using it, the head came off. We discovered that it had only been affixed with a very small bead of hot melt glue. We were very disappointed and expected better from Sears and a "Made in the USA" Craftsman product. Hot melt glue is totally inadequate for attaching a 16 oz. rubber head to a wooden handle. You'd think they could come up with something better than that.

Rubber doesn't separate, and the rubber head is, well, ACTUAL Rubber, not some cheap plastic imitation that doesn't work well. Love it!

Top quality. Made in USA. Even if it's not on SALE it's still CHEAP. You can't find a price like this elsewhere!!!

This is the third Sears rubber mallet I have bought. The first one is 50 years old and looks it but still works well. The second one is like new and in my big Craftsman tool box. I must confess I bought this one because I am afraid the USA made tools will be a thing of the past soon. I am set for life on rubber mallets. I am still trying to get one of each American tool and am pretty close now. Que sara.

Works just like you would expect a rubber mallet to. Good craftsman ship.

This rubber mallet comes in handy when I need to hammer my car's negative battery cable in since I know I won't get shocked nor damage the connector when it goes into the post. The mallet is very lightweight and durable. For any delicate parts that need hammering, this mallet assures safety that it won't damage them.
