What's with the Wood Plug?

NIce hammer for banging. Balance is not good like my old 12 ounce ball peen but then maybe that's good for dealing a heavy blow. Why is the top of the handle above the head filled with wood? The handle is integral with the head so is this nostalgia? Or is this how they make it exactly 16 ounces?

I would recommend this product to a friend.

What a Hammer

Not a whole lot to say about a hammer, however as far as ball peon hammers go in the 16oz variety, this one is sweet. As a union tradesman it's always nice to buy Made in U.S.A, thanks Sears for a great little hammer at an unbeatable price

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman Ball Pein Hammer

This is a standard high quality Craftsman tool. I recommend the Craftsman hammer just as I do all Craftsman hand tools. There is, however, just nothing exciting to say about a ball pain hammer.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Pein

Great ball pein hammer, no complaints. The grip is nice and tight and doesn't have any looseness between it and the handle and it's pretty well balanced. If you're looking to shave some weight, go for a wooden handle.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

The Cadillac of My Ball Pein Collection

I subscribe to the theory that you simply can't own too many tools.  Because of that philosophy, I have a great many ball pein hammers.  I have wood handled ball peins (several), steel handled ball peins (several) and even a fiberglass handled ball pein.

I can really answer why, but every time I'm working over the vice and need a ball pein, my hand instictively reaches for this one.

Is it the perfect balance, the machined and polish head, the comfort grip or all of the above?  I really can't say but I love it!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

The Craftsman 16 oz Steel Handle Ball Pein Hammer is awesome

These hammers are the best hammers I can think of.  The all steel construction will last and last for years to come.  I added one to my Craftsman roll-away tool set in my workshop.  They are great for cold-working mild steel or reshaping bent parts.  I have never had one of these to break either.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

great hammer...just 18 bucks!

I bought this to break lose some old rusted brake rotors and it it did its job as well as taking a pounding day in and day out with rivits and sheet metal, this is now my hammer of choice and the grip is the best, no vibration, im goind to buy the whole line of this type.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
