I build wooden clocks that requires precision cuts of all kind of woods from 1/16"to 3/4". With the proper blade this machine performs great with both pin and flat end blades. The only thing I'm no very happy is that it is not easy and kind of tricky to change the flat end blades.
this is more than i expected. reviews talk about vibration and noise? i have been operating a tool room for years which includes repairing tools- air , electrical and any other tool they make. been 48 years doing this. this scroll saw is about the same as a singer sewing machine. goes through 3/8 like a knife in butter. if you are looking for a scroll saw that is priced right and not as noisy as the ..**** o.experts say. take it from someone who has fixed tools for years. buy this one you will like it. if you are a expert ..and your machine is noisy. you need to take it to someone like me and get it fixed. have fun guys.thanks for reading this
I bought this for my son in law for Xmas, he is a very talented young man and so far he has been using it two to three times a week. He has made beautiful wood wall hangings like you would get in a home decorating store
The blower didn't work from day one. I wasn't surprised from reading the reviews that it wasn't great and had a small vac to put beside it so I had that covered. First time user and took some time getting it to cut straight. Blade changing wasn't as bad as the reviews. Have bought two sears tools and something didn't work or had broken parts out of the box. Will be picking up a band saw today, will see what is broken. Sears *quality* where did you go.

I'm new to the hobby of scroll sawing. Not sure if it was something I was really going to like, I decided not to buy a $600 machine. I've been making small ornaments from patterns. So far, I'm very happy with this tool. The only thing I could see that might be a problem is, if you have big hands and fingers, blade changing could be difficult. I've also found that using plain end blades is easier than pin end. I bought a foot pedal too. Makes it easy to stop the blade if your cut is running off of the line. For a beginner, I think it's a great saw to start out with.
if you takea small clamp and grip the plain end blade so the bottom just goes beyond the set screw on the bottom. you rest the clamp on the table then just snug fit the set screw and with other hand hold the blade so it does not come out and set the screw. then just tighten the top and your done. for those of you who are conplaining about blade changes should think of doing something else, it's not that hard. most of the time if the saw stops there is a fuse where the comtrolls are just undo the 4 screws and put in a new fuse done. other wise the saw is cheap and really not that bad. i use it about 15 to 20 hours a week. bettrer buying this than spending big bucks on a dewalt
Very nice saw. The dust blower could blow a little better, but I believe that is my only complaint. Power is good - use it for hobbies and have cut up to 3/4 inch pine with no problem! Good saw for a good deal!

This is my first scroll saw and it is great ans easy to set up and use, Great for beginner and pros alike, and best of all variable speed! lets you cut medium size projects while 90% of the machine is cast metal not plastic so it will hold up well. I love the Vacuum connection on the from and it allows the sawdust to be collected rather than have to take the plate off at regular intervals and clean, Overall Great Saw and Highly recommend!
This is a good scroll saw for the beginner low vibration if mounted right blade chance could be easier but not to difficult to change if you have trouble with this saw then there is something wrong with your skills I would have liked to have a work light dust blower is ok for a bellows blower it still does the job I want it to do
My husband had been wanting a Scroll saw for some tasks that he has wanted to complete. I found this one for him and we purchased it. He has been happy with it this far, it has made his life easier!
