      Perfect for my use
I did quite a bit of research before buying this saw. In general, there are two categories of scroll saws. One group consists of saws in the $100.00 to $150.00 range, which many reviewers label as "bad" saws, and the second group consists of saws from $400.00 on up, which most reviewers label as "good" saws. Since I don't earn a living by using a scroll saw I quickly eliminated all of the good saws, leaving me to pick from the bad saws. From reading many reviews, I decided that this was the best of the bad saws. I own and use a variety of power tools, including a band saw, and the woodworking projects I do are mainly crafts projects using wood from 1/4" to 1" thick. I recently started building wooden toys, and there are occasions where I could have used a scroll saw. For example, I tried cutting out a square window for the side of a truck by using a coping saw but the result was less than desirable. With this scroll saw I can easily accomplish that task. So far, this saw has served my needs perfectly. I haven't mounted the saw to the workbench or to a piece of wood; I simply placed it on a rubber mat on the workbench. Yes, it does vibrate somewhat, but not enough to make me mount it. So for my purpose, it's a great saw and I would highly recommend it. However, if you make your living by using a scroll saw then nothing will suffice but a high priced "good" saw.

Doesn't work well with plain end blades
I struggled for 2 hours to get this to hold plain end blades. It simply won't hold the really small ones. The design for holding plain end blades is very bad. As you screw in the hold down screw, it torques the holder so far to the right, the blade comes right out. If I had a third hand, maybe it would work. It handled pin-end blades just fine. However, I took the saw back to Sears, and it won't handle 1/2 of the blades it says it handles. Brad

      Works good

Bought this to cut out a pinewood derby car and it worked great for making curved cuts. Car turned out awesome. I can't wait to use it to build some model airplanes now. I would recommend it to anyone looking to get a scroll saw.

Excellent choice for the price. Good quality and easy to operate.

I purchased locally and, because I had researched online, I was given the online price which was cheaper than in-store price. When I opened the box, the saw was sitting crooked and had leaked oil. It took about 30 min. to wipe it clean before being able to remove it from the carton. Everything else went pretty smooth. The saw is very quiet and easy to operate. It is equipped with a blower tube to keep dust from the work plate. That does not blow hard enough and dust accumulates around the blade. I have to stop about every 10 min. to brush the dust away manually. The vacuum attachment keeps the dust removed below the work plate pretty good. I do recommend this saw but, be patient and read the manual in its entirety first. Good luck!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Not a fan...

Was not a fan of this saw... found it very hard to use overall. Changing blades was a pain, the blower didn't blow and overall cou;dn't make the precise cuts I was looking to make. Was able to do most of the work I needed with a handheld Dremel.

      Craftsman scroll saw

Great saw but my only issue is fastening a pinless blade proved to be a challenge. Having to use the t-hex tool as opposed to a fixed **** was a bother. To fasten blade in the place the entire retaining clip would swivel in the direction that would cause the blade to pivot and not fasten correctly. I took knobs from my old ryobi and installed those in my craftsman to enhance my experience.

      Good saw for the price

Owned this saw for a couple of weeks. Changing blades is awkward, but gets easier with practice. Not easy to make accurate cuts in thicker (over 3/4") hardwood stock.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
