ratchet is comfortable and beefy. I intended to buy just the ratchet but found the set for a good deal the day I was going to buy it. It has the most commonly used standard socket sizes in twelve point which is important because I am an aircraft mechanic as well as do-it-yourselfer. I have used almost exclusively 3/8 drive stuff on the small planes I work on, but appreciate the extra torque of the 1/2 for the stubborn stuff. Great for auto work too.
