Another great tool in my arsonal
The Craftsman 17539 Biscuit Joiner was the latest purchase that I made to add to my wood working tool arsonal. I have never used a biscuit joiner before and after going over the owner's manual and taking my new toy out to the shop and playing with some scrap wood to tes out my new tool, it didn't take long to get the hang of using it. I know there are higher end biscuit joiners out there, but this one fit my needs and was pretty easy to operate for a green wood worker. This biscuit joiner sports a 6 amp motor with a no load speed of 10,000 RPMs. The joiner will cut slots to accept biscuit sizes of #0, #10, #20 and will cut angles from 0 degrees up to 135 degrees You can cut Butt, Miter, T-Joints, Flat Miter, Bevel, Edge Miter, Edge to face, Edge to Edge, Offset Butt Joints using this biscuit joiner. The biscuit joiner has a 1 1/4" connection to connect your shop vac to for dust collection The dust bag is easy to attatch and just as easy to dump the sawdust out when full. The biscuit joiner has a 10 ft power cord to allow ample work space from the power source. The plug is polorized for safety. The biscuit joiner has a non-marring fence and the unit is double insulated and has a 2- hand grip. My immediate plans for the biscuit joiner is to make some doors with colored plexiglass panels for a hobby room and I will be using it to help make some furniture and some picture frames. The biscuit joiner comes with a plastic blow mold case that protects the biscuit joiner when not being used and it comes with 20 each of #10 biscuits. There is a nice little storage slot that clips shut to hold some of your biscuits. I would have to say that this was worth the money and if you are in the market for a biscuit joiner, I would recommend this one.

Great tool...but found a flaw

This tool for the price is awesome...I have use plate jointers for years.  When I saw the price on this...I was sold...But there is something you should be aware of.  When I was using this close to the edge and the wood did not project on both sides of the jointer...you are relying on the plastic guide in in the center..."Mistake"...you're cut wont be even with the edge.  Easy to compensate for by clamping a board to use the whole fence..I found out the hard way.  I just pluged and re-cut  the slot.  I have to down rate it for that.  Don't let that stop you from buying.  Just be aware of this little flaw.

Nice Machine For The Price

I bought this based on Sears reputation for affordable tools that work well. I was not dissapointed with this joiner. While it is not a "top of the line" tool it works well and seems well built for light to moderate use. I've used it to join boards for a table top and a few cabinet doors. Easy to use and does the job.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Cutter works well, Biscuits fit Loose

The bisquit cutter seems to work as it should and at a reasonable price. I bought the Sears bisquit joints at the same time. I'm not sure if the cutter is making wide cuts or the bisquits are undersized, but the joints are very loose when fitting together. You have to be sure that there is adequate clamping in all directions since the bisquits do nothing for the alignment of the joints. The finished joints seem to be fine as long as the clamping was good.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

great product that executes

i bought this biscuit jointer not knowing what to expect. i have been pleasantly surprised how quickly and precisely it cuts. i've been mainly butting-up hard maple boards - handles it like a champ. the dust bag does seem to fill quickly, so maybe it count include a larger one. that aside, it's definitely worth the money - terrific value.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
