What a great saw this is! Let me first say that this saw doesn't come with the battery or charger so you will need those!
I bought this saw to do the work of building a new deck and it hasn't let me down at all! Plenty of torque and the battery lasts a while through some pretty severe duty!

I was in the middle of a home project and needed to use my corded recip. saw. When I got it out, it broke down. I had a quick look online and went to Sears and bought this one. It is a really great saw, and fits with my 19.2V tools that I already use constantly. I especially liked the blade holder, it's easy to use and keeps the blade aligned.
Long story short, batteries are pathetic and craftsman doesn't stand behind their products. Lesson learned. To be fair, this saw isn't bad. For the price, it does an admirable job of cutting odd things. It went through two 6x6 treated posts (with a different blade, the ones that come with it weren't right for the job) without complaining much. What I'm disappointed in here is the craftsman warranty or lack there of. I have several of these cordless tools and the NiCad batteries are junk. Seriously, I had 2 batteries that wouldn't hold a charge after a few uses (rotating tires with the impact wrench from this product line.) Sears won't warranty them for more than 60 days if they're bought as part of a kit. If you buy them separately, they come with a 1 year warranty? So does that mean craftsman is putting inferior batteries in the kits to try and force you to buy more batteries later? I don't know but either way, craftsman just lost a lifelong customer. Shame on you craftsman.
I use this saw more than I expected to - thanks to great ideas found in these reviews. It is the Duct Tape or WD-40 of saws: A thousand uses. I suggest purchasing better quality blades at the time you buy the saw. The two included blades are not up to what the saw can deliver and will wear out or break quickly. Good blades make the saw even better. I purchased Craftsman?s Professional bi-metal blades; the10-blade set of six types of useful blades selected for the most common uses (cutting wood, wood with nails, metal pipe and rod, sheetrock, branches/roots and demolition). They last and last, come with a durable, compact case and are well priced. It is impressive how precisely this saw can cut with the right blade.
This saw was used very little and was never abused. About 60 days after the warranty ran out the saw setup and no longer would function. I called Craftsmen and explained my situation and that fell on deft ears. I ask the rep. about getting the saw repaired and I was in formed that it would cost me more for the repair then to buy a new one. I don't use this saw a lot but when I need it I need it. I did buy another one, but only because I already have five 19.2 volt tools and a substantial amount of money invested in the batteries. If I had it to do over or I could get someone to buy the stuff I have I would buy a better brand. The Craftsmen tools of today sure are not the Craftsman tools my dad had. Craftsman used stand for unconditional quality and they would stand behind there products. Like so many other companies today the Sears Craftsmen brand has lost there way.
I had to replace most of the copper piping in my master bathroom and needed to cut everything out. This saw made the job easy and painless. The saw cut through the pipes in a matter of seconds and left a nice clean cut. Highly recommend.

Bought this as a bridge when I am too tired or lazy to use a hand saw and when my chainsaw would be overkill. (Have just used it on wood so far.) Switching blades is extremely easy. Pressing the lock-off button and trigger switch at the same time is awkward.
Got this saw for christmas. It made short work of an old dog house that broke in a storm. Sliced through PVC like butter. The shoe is super easy to adjust with the on board hex key. Came with 2 blades but I picked up a variety pack for it. Works great with the ni-cad battery, I bet its even easier to maneuver with the Li-ion.
