I have used this saw only once so far. Right out of the box it started. It cut though some 8-9 inch trees with no problem. It did have some idol problems and I think it maybe the gas i was using. Overall I like the saw and it is a good value.
When I first used the saw it worked well the second time it took awhile before it would cut with out boggling down like it needed to warm up about a minute and a half or so. The third time it took about 5 minutes and I just took it back to Sears where I bought it now I'm with out a saw until they get it fixed or give me a new one they wouldn't just exchange it right now it was 15 days past the deadline which was 30 days. So maybe I was the unlucky one that just got a bad one

I have try so many times to get the chain saw to run and stay running, bough bar oil new unleaded gas and gas container add the oil that came with the purchase. Returned the first one and Sears staff could not get it to run. So I went through the hazel of getting a replacement and when through the same procedure and still I cound not get is to operate. I have addition investment in these two purchases: time, travel(gas) and anger.
I purchased the chain saw to remove some small trees and bushes. The saw has consistentely started and it has cut thru the trees of about to about 6 inch diameter without any issues. Has a good power to weight ratio where it will tackle the needed job but is not so heavy it tires your arms.

I bought this saw two weeks ago. Started it up just fine one day, but I didn't cut anything. One week later, I turned it on just fine, but it turned off after 20 or so seconds. Turned it back on and it made a few nice cuts with plenty of power, but it kept turning off. I couldn't make two cuts without it turning off and struggling to turn it back on. I returned / exchanged it for the "Heavy Duty" 18" 46cc Craftsman chainsaw (not sure model #, but it's the only 46cc black saw). That saw purrs...... I would not buy this saw again. I should've known with the 3.5 star rating.
