all my life i had a gas trimmer but finally i thought of giving chance to new technology , and what a mistake i made. this is my worst investment ever. the battery dies out in 20-25minutes and the warranty is for 6 months at sears. after 6months , you will need extended warranty package or " sorry we can't do anything " . i have a small yard and in 6 months i used only once. the second was time was in spring. Buy a gas trimmer, they will last.

I was a diehard craftsman fan for many years. However, within the past ten years their quality has dropped off the map. This trimmer is the last straw for me! I have already exchanged the battery thinking I got a lemon. The new one is just as bad! Ten minute max on battery charge if that. I will throw this one away and replace it with other than craftsman!!!!!

I have a Craftman gas power trimmer that I use all the time. My wife had a battery trimmer which we purchased 10 years ago that she like to use when she helped me with the trimming. Well the battery wouldn't hold a charge, so I purchased the the Craftman for her. She loves it, it's lighter, has adjustable length and with the removable battery it works great.

I have used electric trimmers for years, but never used a cordless, and am inept at using a gas trimmer. I bought this yesterday after my 2 y/o electric quit, plugged in the charger last night and was AMAZED at how great this worked tonight. I am very impressed. I was concerned that the battery was not going to hold up, but this was on what the manual says is a partial charge and it did everything I needed, trimmed beautifully through a 4 week growth of fence row weed/grass both inside and outside the fence, and never missed a beat! I would recommend this to anyone. The ONLY complaint I have is that the grip is a little bit large for a ladies hand, but was manageable. I am an "older" female with a good knowledge of lawn and hand tools and I would not steer you wrong in this purchase.

This has not lasted one season. I bought it at the end of September '11 and it was end of life in June '12. I have a very small yard and used the trimmer once a week for edging the lawn which would normally take a couple of minutes. Now the battery will only last about 45 seconds on a full charge. You will never have to replace the line because the battery will be dead way before you run out of line. Don't buy it, do yourself a favor and just walk away. I am sure the people who have given it a good review did so not long after purchasing it as when it is new it is great for a couple of minutes, but really it will take you longer to read this review than the battery will last in 6 months. This is bad... bad, bad, bad. Did I say bad enough yet? You would be better of buying beer than this, then at least you wont care what your yard looks like.

I bought this product to replace gas powered craftmans weed eater that stop working after a couple of seasons of trouble. Not much cutting power, get the weeds before they get thick. Handles well and ergonomics are adjustable. Battery charger is a joke. Never gives full charge indication, instead gets very, very hot. Charger/battery is a potential fire hazard.

After less than a year the battery does not hold a charge long enough to do half me gardening chores. A replacement battery is $54, almose the price of what I paid for the trimmer to start with.

The battery power is terrible and I am not at all pleased with its shoirt performance. The personnel at the Kingsford Sears Store were great !! If only the trimmer were as good.
