My drill came with two of these battery packs. BOTH of them come off the charger virtually completely dead. One will put in/remove two or three screws before it's so dead it won't do any more. The other comes off the charger so dead that I can't even put in/remove one screw. So much for DieHard being a good battery brand.

Back in 2005 when I first started my C3 Tools the batteries lasted over 5 years, I still have some that still hold a charge. The new ones I buy only last a little over a year!! There should be a date stamped into the battery to show date made..Rotting on the shelf...
Horrible. 3 out of 3 failed within 10 cycles of use. When you have this many cells stacked up, cell reversal and subsequent pack failure are inevitable, but even I was surprised at how fast these went bad. Draining them all the way invites reversal, frequent charging causes memory and reduced capacity. You just can't win with these, so AVOID THEM. You're much better off with any of the lithium packs.
Bought a 4 tool kit with 2 batteries. Batteries died just past warranty. Bought a new drill which included a battery for 39.99 November 2011 That battery died after 6 months. I called Sears and they said the battery is not under warranty only the drill.

If you read the instructions, they tell you that you should charge this unit before every use. That is ridiculous. When I need to use a tool, I don't want to have to wait a hour for it to charge before I can use it.They also loose power as you use them. These NiCad's DO go dead just waiting to be used. The life of this battery is short, both in use and overall life. The instructions also say that charging them longer than necessary damages them and shortens the overall life. Save your money and get a Lithium when they are on sale. You will be much happier with the performance and life.
I have had my 19.2 v pack for years, i have three batteries that i use and two of them have finally died, i bought a new battery for the set and am once again Happy. Great product.

I use this around the house for light duty repairs and the occasional job that requires two batteries to finish. I've had this set of batteries for five years and charge them at least once a month whether I use them or not. I think that it performs well for a NiCd battery and the price is reasonable compared to replacing them with Lithium. Just bought a couple more and hope for service to match the first set.
