Works as well as my old gas n oil weed trimmer
Craftsman model#CR2050 with the Lithium-ion Battery. Its much more lighter than the gas powered ones, its shaft and handle is adjustable along with an adjustable pivoting head. I charged up the battery and it worked great. Its speed and power is the same as my old gas weed trimmer without the noise and smoke. I love the fact that its ready to work instantly. The only negative is the automatic line feed that needlessly puts out additional line when not needed and then it gets cut off and wasted. A quick fix is to pop off the red plastic line cap and simply place a ?? thick foam circle on top of the spool and place the red cap back on. This foam will prevent the line from automatic feeding. You can use a kitchen sponge or whatever you got lying around. Also I did not install the black plastic line guard which has the line cutter blade because its not needed and only adds weight to the tool. Note: The line feed on my previous gas trimmers never worked either.Still gets 5 STARS!

      Exceeded Expectations

Relocated to SATX after 9 years overseas and was in dire need of something to cut the grass at our rental place. The yard (front and back) isn't big enough to warrant a mower so I opted for a trimmer. Previous experience was with a corded trimmer (220 V) over in Germany and I wasn't impressed with it. Plenty of power but I was always messing with the electrical cable and always re-threading the bump feed plastic line after breaking. So it was only good for lawn edges and not much else. This 19.2 V Cordless C3 Self Feed String Trimmer doesn't have any of those issues. No cord to trip over and the trimmer line doesn't break at all! I get about 45 to 50 minutes of heavy trimming out of the battery so that's excellent. Moreover, I bought some other C3 tools that use the same battery so I always have another battery (these are too expensive to buy on their own) when I need one. For even better cutting results, and a cheaper refill, get the 300-ft. replacement trimmer line (.065" Patented 6 Bladed Shape) and rewind the coil yourself when empty. Only minus point is that the trimmer doesn't come with a carrying strap. Sears will sell you one but its extra ... come on Craftsman ... With that said, this trimmer still deserves 5 stars.

      String trimmer works!

I have a rather extensive set of C3 tools and associated batteries. We had another trimmer for my wife's use which worked O.K., but the battery life was not adequate. This trimmer uses our existing lithium chloride batteries which give much longer service as well as provide more power than our other unit did. This accomplishes all the trimming we do around our house and acres.

      Love It!

I'm so excited to have another C3 tool that shares the same battery system as my other cordless tools. The cordless trimmer is great -- comfortable to hold, and nice and light. I'll be selling my gas-powered trimmer ASAP!

IVE MAD THE SWITCH TO BATTERY POWER

I decided to try lithium battery power instead of oil and gas and ill never look back.this trimmer is very nice and because you can flip the handle its the perfect edger too...i have a decent size yard(not a postage stamp in the city) and it works great for me..the only small issue I have is once the battery isn't at full power, the auto line feed gets a little sketchy.do yourself a favor & get this at the $99 sale price because it includes a lithium battery that would cost you $60 if you had to buy it separately...I made the switch & ill never go back

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall not a bad item, could use a little improving.

I purchased this late in the season so my time of use is small. For the time I have used it it seems pretty good with some room for improvement. The power of the unit itself does a good job with overgrown grass around the fence. The major issue I have is the feeding of the string, sometimes it does and sometimes it does not unless you help it (by pulling on it by hand usually works and sometimes requires disassembly). Not sure how to fix this. In all, I would recommend to anyone with areas of overgrown grass to trim (5" tall or so) and don't expect it to work wonders on heavy weeds. Major pro is the fact there are no cords to drag and no gas to add and it starts everytime (assuming battery is charged).

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Such a disappointment!!!!

The whole Craftsman lithium ion line started out great, so great in fact that I replaced a significant number of my yard tools last summer. Just one year of use and then it began, the die off. First it was just one battery that came up defective and would no longer charge, then two and then three. I now have a great supply of dead weight. For the price of these batteries I had much higher expectations.

      Great Trimmer

Easy to handle, light in weight and the power lasts much longer than I thought it would each charge.
